Edge - twisted

Cast on and work some rows in stockinette.
We are twisting after every 4th st, but you can twist with shorter or longer spaces.
We are twisting by twisting the left needle away from us, you can twist away from you or towards you, just be consistent.
On socks or sleeve edges for example you might want to make one of each to be mirrored. This technique creates a scalloped twisted edge. It is just as stretchy as a regular stockinette edge.
