GARTER ST (back and forth):
K all rows. 1 ridge = K2 rows.

GARTER ST (worked in the round):
1 ridge = 2 rounds. * K 1 round and P 1 round *, repeat from *-*.

MAGIC CIRCLE:
To avoid hole mid front on toe beg with this technique:
Hold yarn end in the left hand and make a loop around left index finger (from left to right). Hold the loop with left thumb and index finger. Insert needle through loop, get yarn from ball, pull yarn back through loop, 1 YO (place yarn from the back and towards you) and pull YO through sts on needle, * insert needle through loop, 1 YO, pull YO through loop, 1 YO and pull YO through outermost st on right needle (i.e. the last st made) *, repeat from *-* until there are 16 sts on needle. Distribute sts on double pointed needles size 4 mm / US 6. Then work as explained in pattern – AT THE SAME TIME pull yarn end so that loop is tighten tog and the hole disappears.

PATTERN:
See diagrams A.1 and A.2. See diagram for correct size. The diagrams show the pattern seen from RS.
----------------------------------------------------------

SLIPPER:
Work first in the round from toe. When bind off for foot opening, continue back and forth. Then cast on sts for heel and continue in the round until finished measurements. Beg of round = mid under foot.

Start with Nepal and MAGIC CIRCLE - see explanation above - on double pointed needles 4 mm. K 1 round. Then work PATTERN according to A.1 – choose diagram for correct size. When inc are done, there are 36-40-44 sts on needle. REMEMBER THE KNITTING GAUGE On 22nd-26th-29th round in pattern bind off 1 st for foot opening (see diagram) = 35-39-43 sts. Continue the rest of round = 34-38-42 sts. Work the first 17-19-21 sts in diagram (see arrow), turn and continue back and forth until A.1 has been worked. Now work A.2 as follows: Cast on 15-15-17 new sts with 2 strand (= back, at the top of heel) = 36-40-44 sts. Then work in the round with 1 strand as follows: K over the next 11-13-14 sts, insert a marker (= mid under foot and beg of round). Continue as shown in diagram until finished measurements. When entire diagram has been worked vertically and 16-20-24 sts remain on round, bind off the remaining sts. Knit another slipper the same way.

ASSEMBLY:
Sew tog heel in one and one st inside bind-off edge. Fasten off.
