CIRCLE:
Worked in the round on double pointed needles and switch to circular needle when there are enough sts.
Cast on 4 sts on double pointed needles size 5 mm / US 8 with Paris. Work as follows: K 1, 1 YO, K 1, 1 YO, K 1, 1 YO, K 1 and 1 YO = 8 sts. On next round K all sts. Then work next round as follows: * K 1, 1 YO *, repeat from *-* the entire round = 16 sts.
Then work in stockinette st
– AT THE SAME TIME on 1st round, insert a marker in every st and
- AT THE SAME TIME on this 1st round, beg to inc 1 st after every marker by making 1 YO, repeat inc every 4th round (= 16 new sts per inc round).
When piece measures approx. 19-20-21-22-23-24 cm / 7½''-8''-8¼''-8¾''-9''-9½'' from center, there are approx. 176-192-192-208-208-224 sts on the needle.
Now make armholes on next round as follows: bind off 30-32-34-36-36-40 sts (= first armhole), work 48-53-58-63-63-70 sts (= sts in neck), bind off 30-32-34-36-36-40 sts (= next armhole), work the remaining sts (= bottom of back = approx. 68-75-66-73-73-74 sts). On next round cast on same no of sts that were bind off over the bind off sts - continue in the round with inc until piece measures approx. 32-33-34-35-36-37 cm / 12½''-13½''-13 3/8''-13¾''-14¼''-14½'' from center = approx. 288-304-304-320-320-336 sts in the round.
On next round bind off the middle 48-50-52-54-56-58 sts at the top for neck and the middle 48-50-52-54-56-58 sts at the bottom of the back – finish each side separately.

FRONT PIECES:
= approx. 96-102-100-106-104-110 sts. Now continue in stockinette st back and forth over sts on the needle and inc with YO as before for approx. 10-13-16-19-22-25 cm / 4"-5"-6 1/4"-7½"-8 3/4"-9 3/4" – AT THE SAME TIME bind off at beg of every row in each side:
Sizes:
S-M-XXL-XXXL: bind off 3-3-2-2 sts in each side a total of 11-14-24-27 times.
Sizes: L-XL: Alternately bind off 2 and 3 sts in each side a total of 17-20 times.
After last bind off, bind off the remaining sts
= approx. 40 sts in all sizes.

ASSEMBLY:
Crochet an edge around the body and the armholes on hook size 4.5 mm/ US 7 with Paris as follows: 1 sc, * ch 2, skip approx. 1 cm / 3/8'' and work 1 sc *, repeat *-*.
Sew on button inside the crochet edge on the left side in the same height as top of armhole. Button the vest in the crochet edge.

I think the name for the pretty circular vest without a name should be called "Around Town".Or "Dosey-Doe" , or Square Dance. I was making a post tonight about my hometown with a town square and was looking at this pattern later. It made me think of my little hometown in Iowa.

Marmelle 09.07.2013 - 23:48:

Hatte in Gr.

Elainamc 06.02.2011 - 18:06:
