Pattern instructions

NOTE: This pattern is written in American English. All measurements in charts are in cm. For conversion from inches to cm - click here. Gauge: 14 sts and 16 rows on larger needles in Stockinette Stitch = 10 x 10 cm [4»x4»]

Pattern: See Chart. 1 chart = one repeat of the Pattern. Chart is shown from the right side.

Rib: *Knit 2, Purl 2 *, repeat from *-*.

Body: Cast on 180 (192-204) sts on smaller circular needles. Join, being careful not to twist the sts. Place a marker at the join. Knit 2 rows in stockinette stitch and thereafter in rib for 6 cm [2 1/2». Change to larger circular needles and set pattern in the next row as follows:
12 (15-18) sts stockinette stitch, Pattern 1, Pattern 1, Pattern 2, Pattern 1, Pattern 1, 24 (30-36) sts in stockinette stitch, Pattern 1, Pattern 1, Pattern 2, Pattern 1, Pattern 1, 12 (15-18) sts in stockinette stitch.
When the work measures 32 (33-35) cm [12-5/8» (13» - 13.75»)], knit the next row as follows: Bind off 1 (1-2) sts for armhole, knit 88 (94-98) sts for the front, bind off 2 (2-4) sts for armhole, knit 88 (94-98) sts for the back, bind off 1 (1-2) sts for armhole. Knit the rest of the front and back separately and back and forth on the needle.

Front: 88 (94-98) sts. Bind off for armholes on every 2nd row: 2 sts 0 (1-2) time, 1 stitch 1 time. 86 (88-88) sts remain. When the work measures 54 (56-58) cm [21.25» (22» - 22-7/8»)], bind off the center 12 (14-14) sts for the front neck. Then bind off at either side of neck edge on every other row: 4 sts 1 time, 3 sts 2 times. Bind off when the work measures 60 (62-64) cm [23-5/8» (24-3/8» - 25.25»)].

Back: 88 (94-98) sts. Bind off for armholes as on the front. 86 (88-88) sts remain. When the work measures 58 (60-62) cm [22-7/8» (23-5/8» - 24-3/8»)], bind off the center 28 (30-30) sts for the back neck. Then bind off 2 sts on either side on the next row for the neck. Bind off when the work measures 60 (62-64) cm [23-5/8» (24-3/8» - 25.25»)].

Sleeves: Cast on 36 (36-36) sts on smaller double pointed needles. Join, being careful not to twist the sts. Place a marker at the join and knit 2 rows stockinette stitch and then rib for 6 cm [2.5»].
Change to larger double pointed needles, knit the next row in stockinette stitch and decrease one stitch on either side of the marker 2 (2-0) times. 34 (34-36) sts remain. Then inc 1 st on either side of the 22 (24-23) times on alternately every 2nd and 3rd row. 78 (82-82) sts remain.
When the work measures 47 (47-48) cm [18.5» (18.5» - 18-7/8»)], bind off 6 sts directly under the sleeve (three on either side of the marker) and knit the rest back and forth on the needle. Bind off on either side for sleeve tops on every 2nd row: 7 sts 3 times. Bind off. The work measures approximately 52 (52-53) cm [20.5» (20.5» - 20-7/8»)].

Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Pick up approximately 84-92 sts around the neck on smaller circular needles and knit in rib for 14 cm [5.5»] and then 2 rows stockinette stitch, bind off. Sew on the sleeves.

Bonjour, je voudrais bien savoir à quoi correspond le diagramme M12 car il n'y a pas de grille pour ce motif, et je ne comprends pas où trouver celui-ci.Merci.

Chere Alarcon, la version correcte est comme suit: Continuer avec l'aiguille circulaire 6 ainsi: 12-15-18 m jersey, M1, M1, M2, M1, M1, 24-30-36 m jersey, M1, M1, M2, M1, M1, 12-15-18 m jersey. Bon tricot!

Hi Ruth, it's right under where it tells you the amount of yarn. Pattern say: DROPS 5 mm (US 8) and 6 mm (US 10) circular and double pointed needles, or size needed to obtain correct gauge.
