Vh Benthe Juul

Knitting gauge: 19 sts x 25 rows stockinette sts with 2 strands = 10 x 10 cm [4" x 4"] Hat: Remember knitting gauge! Knit piece in the round. Knit the hat double the length of finished measurement and similar in both ends. On completion bottom part is turned into the hat so it is doubled. Cast on 15 sts on double pointed needles size 4 mm [US 6] with 2 strands Alpaca. Knit hat in stockinette sts. Knit 1 round, on next round inc by knitting 2 sts in each st = 30 sts. Insert 3 markers into piece (with 10 sts between). Now inc 1 sts on each side of markers on every other row 10-11-12 times in total = 90-96-102 sts. Knit stockinette sts until piece measures 55-57-58 cm [21⅝"-22½"-22 ¾"]. Insert 3 new markers into piece (with 30-32-34 sts between). Now dec 1 sts on each side of each marker on every other row 10-11-12 times in total (dec by K 2 sts tog) = 30 sts. On next round K2 tog around = 15 sts. Pull thread through remaining sts, pull tog and sew away well. Piece measures approx 63-66-68 cm [24 ¾"-26"-26 ¾"]. Assembly: Sew around opening of hat and pull tog. Turn bottom part of hat so it is doubled. Sew with a few sts so hat stays in place. __________________________________________________ SCARF Knitting gauge: 12 sts stockinette sts = 10 cm [4"] in width Garter sts: Knit all rows back and forth on needle Seed stitch: 1st row: * K1, P1 *, repeat from *-*. 2nd row: K over P and P over K. Repeat 2nd row. Cable pattern: See diagram M.1. Diagram are seen from RS. SCARF Cast on 58 sts on needle size 7 mm [US 10 ½] with Snow. Knit 8 rows garter sts – see explanation above. Knit next row as follows - from RS: 6 sts seed stitch – see explanation above - diagram M.1 (46 sts) and finish with 6 sts seed stitch. Work like this until piece measures approx 148 cm [58"] – stop after one complete pattern repeat in height of M.1. Knit 8 rows garter sts and bind off. |
