Was bedeutet 28-28 bzw. bei der Kapuze 42 - 42 Maschen anschlagen? Also 2x28 = 56 Maschen? Bzw. 84 für die Kapuze???
03.01.2026 - 12:42DROPS Design answered:

Hello! I am a beginner at knitting and I am a bit confused as to whether I skould use the two strands as 1 or follow a method for two different yarns. Also is the garter method for two strands different from the original one? Thank you in advance ☺️

What is the gauge for this pattern? Thank you. Karen
10.10.2025 - 23:42DROPS Design answered:
Dear Karen, the materials section seems to be missing from the US version of the pattern; we will correct it as soon as possible. The Gauge is : 14 stitches in width and 17 rows in height with stocking stitch and 1 strand of each quality on needle size 6 mm (US 10) = 10 x 10 cm. Happy knitting!

------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- GARTER STITCH (worked back and forth): Knit all rows, from both the right and wrong side. 1 ridge in height = knit 2 rows. ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- HOODED SCARF – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: First the scarf is worked then the hood, both worked back and forth. The hood is sewn together mid-back. Finally the hood is sewn to the middle of the scarf SCARF: Cast on 28-28 stitches with circular needle size 6 mm, 1 strand DROPS Alpaca Bouclé and 1 strand DROPS Kid-Silk (2 strands). Make sure the cast-on edge is not too tight. Work back and forth as follows: ROW 1 (wrong side): Work 2 GARTER STITCHES – read explanation above, * purl 2, knit 4, purl 2 *, work from *-* until there are 2 stitches left, work 2 garter stitches. ROW 2 (right side): Work 2 garter stitches, * knit 2, purl 4, knit 2 *, work from *-* until there are 2 stitches left, work 2 garter stitches. Continue with knit above knit, purl above purl and 2 garter stitches on each side until the scarf measures 170-180 cm from the cast-on edge. Remember to maintain the knitting tension. The scarf measures approx. 18 cm in width. Cast off slightly loosely with knit above knit and purl above purl. Insert 1 marker in the middle of the long-side, with 85-90 cm on each side of the marker (= mid-back). HOOD: Cast on 42-42 stitches with circular needle size 6 mm and 1 strand of each quality. Make sure the cast-on edge is not too tight. Work back and forth as follows: ROW 1 (wrong side): Work 2 garter stitches, rib (knit 4, purl 4) until there are 4 stitches left, purl 2, work 2 garter stitches. ROW 2 (right side): Work 2 garter stitches, purl 2, rib (knit 4, purl 4) until there are 2 stitches left, work 2 garter stitches. Continue with knit above knit, purl above purl and 2 garter stitches on each side until the hood measures 74-78 cm from the cast-on edge. Cast off slightly loosely with knit above knit and purl above purl. ASSEMBLY: Fold the hood double. The sides which end with knit 4 and 2 garter stitches (from the right side) are sewn together, edge to edge all the way down so there are 4 ridges mid-back. The hood measures approx. 37-39 cm in height. Sew the hood to the middle of the scarf, inside 1 stitch with the seam mid-back directly above the marker on the long-side of the scarf. |
