This makes a beautiful baby blanket. I've knitted one for two babies and each time it's been their favourite. I'm about to try third time lucky. Thanks for a lovely simple pattern and gorgeous wool.

I loved knitting this balnket but did not have sufficient yarn to knit the final set of stripes. I just knitted each colour until it was finished but only got about 8 rows per colour rather than 18 in the last stripe sequence. I'm still pleased with the end result though!

GARTER ST (back and forth on needle): K all rows. 1 ridge = K2 rows. STRIPES: 1. TexMex 2. Yellow/pink 3. Pink dream 4. Sea mist 5. Lavender 6. Red chilli 7. Fun lilac Repeat 1st-7th stripe 4 times in total. ---------------------------------------------------------- BLANKET: Worked back and forth on circular needle. LOOSELY cast on 143 sts on needle size 5.5 mm / US 9 with texMex. Then work in GARTER ST – see explanation above while AT THE SAME TIME working STRIPES – see explanation above, with different colors. Work 9 ridges in garter st in each stripe. Cut the yarn after every color change. Work until ball is almost used up and bind off - piece measures approx. 144 cm / 56½" - NOTE: Make 1 YO after approx. every 5th st while binding off (bind off YOs as sts) to make the bind-off edge more elastic. Fasten all strands. |
