Dear Ben, this blanket could be make with just 1 thread but everything should be adjust and recalculated to adapt. We do have some great blankets with just 1 thread Alpaca, just have a look with the help of the search engine. Happy knitting!

GARTER ST (back and forth on needle): K all rows. COLOR CHANGE: See diagram 1. KNITTING TIP: Make sure to tighten thread when working the first and last st on each row to make edge even. --------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------- BLANKET: Worked in 4 lengths, crochet tog afterwards. 1 LENGTH: See Knitting tip! LOOSELY cast on 26 sts on needle size 5 mm [US 8] with 2 threads dark steel blue and work GARTER ST – see above – until piece measures 15 cm [6"] = 1 square. . REMEMEBER THE KNITTING GAUGE! Change to 2 threads light graygreen and work garter st until piece measures 30 cm [11¾"] (i.e. same amount of rows as in square 1). Continue like this, changing colors acc to diagram 1. After the last square piece measures approx 75 cm [29½"]. Make another 3 lengths in the same way, changing colors acc to diagram 1. ASSEMBLY: Crochet the 4 lengths tog vertically with crochet hook size 5 mm [H/8] and 2 threads light beige as follows: Place 2 lengths edge to edge with WS against WS and crochet tog from RS: 1 sc in first st (crochet through both layers), * 1 ch, skip 1 st, 1 sc in next st *, repeat from *-* and crochet tog the other lengths in the same way. CROCHET BORDER: Crochet a border round the blanket with crochet hook size 5 mm [H/8] and 2 threads light beige as follows: 1 sc in first st, * 1 ch, skip 1 st, 1 sc in next st *, repeat from *-* and finish round with 1 ch and 1 sl st in first sc from beg of round. |
