EXPLANATION FOR THE PATTERN:

----------------------------------------------------------

PATTERN:
See diagrams A.1 and A.2.

----------------------------------------------------------

START THE PIECE HERE:

----------------------------------------------------------

HEAD BAND - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE GARMENT:
Worked back and forth. Work sideways, first back and forth over all stitches, then divide into 3 parts and finish them back and forth separately. Plait these parts, then work back and forth over all stitches. Then sew piece together mid back.

HEAD BAND:
Cast on 24-24-24 stitches on needle size 3.5 mm = US 4 with Nepal. Work A.1 over all stitches – REMEBER KNITTING GAUGE. When piece measures 18-19-20 cm = 7”-7 1/2”-8”, divide the piece into 3 parts for cable (continue A.1 as before) as follows:
Work the first 8 stitches, insert the remaining 16 stitches on a stitch holder. Continue A.1 as before over these 8 stitches for 15 cm = 6” – finish from wrong side, cut the yarn and slip the stitches on a new stitch holder. Work the next 8 stitches from the first stitch holder the same way – finish from wrong side, cut the yarn and slip the stitches on a new stitch holder. Work the last 8 stitches from stitch holder the same way – finish from wrong side but do not cut the yarn!
Now place the 3 parts together to make a cable – see diagram A.2, as follows:
Place part-1 over part-2 and then part-1 under part-3. Place part-2 over part-3 and then part-2 under part-1. The parts are now placed as follows from left to right from right side: part 3-1-2 = 24 stitches. Slip the parts on to the same needle in this order and continue pattern as before over all stitches until piece measures 51-53-55 cm = 20”-21”-21 5/8”, bind off with knit over knit and purl over purl.

ASSEMBLY:
Sew bind-off edge to cast-on edge. Sew one and one stitch to avoid a chunky seam.

Hej.
