INFORMATION FOR PATTERN:
COLOR PATTERN:
See diagrams A.1 to A.3. Diagrams show colors in pattern. 1 square = 1 double crochet.
COLOR CHANGE:
When changing color work as follows: Work last double crochet with first color but wait with last pull through, switch to next color and work last pull through with the new color, then work next double crochet.
When working with two colors place strands for the color not worked over stitches from previous round, work around the strands so that they are hidden inside the stitches, the strand will then follow in the round.
CROCHET INFO:
Replace first double crochet on round with 3 chain stitches, finish round with 1 slip stitch in third chain stitch at beginning of round.
Replace first single crochet on round with 1 chain stitch, finish round with 1 slip stitch in first chain stitch at beginning of round.
----------------------------------------------------------
POUFFE:
Work in the round in two parts and sew tog when finished.
BASE:
Work 4 chain stitches on hook size 6 mm / J/10 with hot pink and form a ring with 1 slip stitch in first chain stitch.
Then work A.1 in the round as explained below (= 12 repetitions on round) - read COLOR PATTERN and COLOR CHANGE.
ROUND 1: Work 12 double crochets in ring – READ CROCHET INFO!
ROUND 2: Work 2 double crochets in every double crochet = 24 double crochets.
ROUND 3: Work * 1 double crochet in first double crochet, 2 double crochets in next double crochet *, repeat from *-* the entire round = 36 double crochets. REMEMBER THE CROCHET GAUGE!
ROUND 4: Work * 1 double crochet in the first/next 2 double crochets, 2 double crochets in next double crochet *, repeat from *-* the entire round = 48 double crochets.
Continue A.1 with increases as before, i.e. on every round work 1 double crochet more between increases. NOTE! Work last round in A.1 with 1 single crochet in every double crochet (instead of 1 double crochet in every double crochet) and with increases as before = 168 single crochets. Fasten off when A.1 has been worked.
LID/SIDE:
Work the lid the same way as bottom but without cutting the yarn, i.e. work A.2 in the round (= 12 repetitions on round). On last round in A.2 work double crochets (not single crochets) = 168 double crochets. Then work the side of pouffe as follows: Continue in the round but now work without increases, i.e. work A.3 in the round (the first two rounds in A.3 give 14 repetitions of 12 stitches, the remaining 10 rounds give 12 repetitions of 14 stitches. NOTE! Work last round in A.3 with 1 single crochet in every double crochet (instead of 1 double crochet in every double crochet). Fasten off when A.3 has been worked.
ASSEMBLY:
Fill the pouffe with 2 or 3 pillows depending on how dense you want the pouffe. Sew bottom to lid/side with 2 strands hot pink - sew edge to edge in outer loops of every single crochet so that the seam is flat.
