GARTER ST (back and forth on needle):
K all rows. 1 ridge = K 2 rows.

See diagrams A.1 and A.2. Diagrams show all rows in pattern from RS.

Worked in the round on circular needle. Cast on 104 sts on circular needle size 9 mm / US 13 with Eskimo. Now work straps as follows: Work the first 12 sts on needle, bind off the next 40 sts, slip the next 12 sts on a stitch holder (work them first), bind off the next 40 sts.
Work back and forth over the 12 sts on needle as follows: 2 sts in GARTER ST – see explanation above, continue with A.1, 2 sts in garter st.
Continue until strap measures 90 cm / 35½”. Bind off. Slip the next 12 sts on stitch holder back on circular needle size 9 mm / US 13, work as the other strap.
Fasten the two straps in each side (over the cable on the same side). Sew tog bag at the bottom.

Place the bag in the washing machine with a detergent without enzymes and optical bleach. Wash warm at 104F with normal spin but no pre-wash. After wash shape the bag to the right size while still wet and leave to dry flat. At subsequent wash, wash at regular wool program.
