CROCHET TIP:
At beg of round when it says “crochet in first dc”, this is in the 3rd of the 3 ch from beg of previous round.

POT HOLDER 1:
Crochet in the round in 2 colors. NOTE: To avoid thread ends let both colors follow the piece as you go along.
Ch 8 with blue and crochet hook size 3.5 mm/E/4 and form a ring with 1 sl st in first ch.
ROUND 1: Crochet 12 sc with blue in ch-ring, finish with 1 sl st in first sc.
ROUND 2: ch 3 + 1 dc with blue in first sc, * 1 dc with white in next sc and 2 dc with blue in next sc *, repeat from *-* 5 times, finish with 1 dc with white in last sc and 1 sl st in 3rd ch from beg of round (= a total of 18 dc).
ROUND 3: ch 3 + 1 dc with blue in first dc – SEE CROCHET TIP, 2 dc with blue in next dc, * 1 dc with white in next dc, 2 dc with blue in each of the next 2 dc *, repeat from *-* 5 times, finish with 1 dc with white in last dc and 1 sl st in 3rd ch from beg of round (= a total of 30 dc).
ROUND 4: ch 3 + 1 dc with blue in first dc, 1 dc with blue in each of the next 2 dc and 2 dc with blue in next dc, * 1 dc with white in next dc, 2 dc with blue in next dc, 1 dc with blue in each of the next 2 dc and 2 dc with blue in next dc *, repeat from *-* 5 times, finish with 1 dc with white in last dc and 1 sl st in 3rd ch from beg of round (= a total of 42 dc).
ROUND 5: ch 3 + 1 dc with blue in first dc, 1 dc with blue in each of the next 4 dc and 2 dc with blue in next dc, * 1 dc with white in next dc, 2 dc with blue in next dc, 1 dc with blue in each of the next 4 dc and 2 dc with blue in next dc *, repeat from *-* 5 times, finish with 1 dc with white in last dc and 1 sl st in 3rd ch from beg of round (= a total of 54 dc).

ROUND 7: ch 3 + 1 dc with white in first dc, * 1 dc with blue in each of the next 7 dc, 2 dc with white in next dc, 1 dc with white in each of the next 2 dc, and 2 dc with white in next dc *, repeat from *-* 5 times, 1 dc with blue in each of the next 7 dc, 2 dc with white in next dc, then 1 dc with white in each of the next 2 dc, finish with 1 sl st in 3rd ch from beg of round (= a total of 78 dc).

ROUND 10: ch 3 with white in first dc, 1 dc with white in each of the next 5 dc, 2 dc with white in next dc, * then 1 dc with blue in next dc, 2 dc with white in next dc, 1 dc with white in each of the next 14 dc, 2 dc with white in next dc *, repeat from *-* 5 times, 1 dc with blue in next dc, 2 dc with white in next dc, 1 dc with white in each of the next 8 dc, finish with 1 sl st in 3rd ch from beg of round (= a total of 114 dc).
Now crochet a picot border with white round pot holder as follows: 1 sc in first st, * ch 3, 1 dc in the first ch (= 1 picot), skip 2 dc, 1 sc in next dc *, repeat from *-* all the way round, finish with ch 15 (= strap), and fasten strap with 1 sl st in pot holder, crochet 1 sl st in each ch, cut and fasten thread.

POT HOLDER 2:
Cast on 12 sts on needle size 6 mm / US 10 with Ice. Leave approx 30 cm / 11 3/4'' thread end, and use this to tighten pot holder tog – tighten as you go along to make measuring easier. K 1 row from WS and continue in garter st. i.e. K all rows. AT THE SAME TIME work turns as follows:
*Work 1 row on the first 2 sts, turn and work return row. Work 1 row on the first 4 sts, turn and work return row. Work 1 row on the first 6 sts, turn and work return row. Work 1 row on the first 8 sts, turn and work return row. Work 1 row on the first 10 sts, turn and work return row. Work 1 row on all sts, turn and work return row. Work 1 row on all sts with 2 threads Muskat Soft, turn and work return row *, repeat from *-*.
Work a total of approx 11 full repeats (piece should form a full circle). K 1 row from RS on all sts with 2 threads Muskat Soft. Continue with 2 threads Muskat Soft and now work strap as follows on next row: Work row until 2 sts remain, cast on 15 new sts, K tog the last 2 sts. On next row bind off all sts (also sts on strap). Sew bind off row to cast on row, edge to edge.
