DROPS 120-56 by DROPS Design

Set comprises: Crochet DROPS pot holder in ”Muskat Soft” and ”Paris” with star pattern, and knitted DROPS pot holder in ”Ice” and ”Muskat Soft”.

POT HOLDER 1:
Size: Approx 24 cm in diameter.
Materials: DROPS MUSKAT SOFT from Garnstudio
For 1 pot holder: 50 g colour no 03, blue
And use: DROPS PARIS from Garnstudio
For 1 pot holder: 50 g colour no 16, white

DROPS CROCHET HOOK size 3.5 mm – or size needed to get 18 tr x 9 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

POT HOLDER 2:
Size: Approx 24 cm in diameter.
Materials: DROPS ICE from Garnstudio
For 1 pot holder: 50 g colour no 01, white.
And use: DROPS MUSKAT SOFT from Garnstudio
For 1 pot holder: 50 g colour no 03, blue.

DROPS POINTED NEEDLES size 6 mm - or size needed to get 13 sts x 26 rows in garter st with 1 thread Ice or 2 threads Muskat Soft = 10 x 10 cm

POT HOLDER 1:
CROCHET TIP:
At beg of round when it says “crochet in first tr”, this is in the 3rd of the 3 ch from beg of previous round.

POT HOLDER 1:
Crochet in the round in 2 colours. NOTE: To avoid thread ends let both colours follow the piece as you go along.
Crochet 8 ch with blue and crochet hook size 3.5 mm and form a ring with 1 sl st in first ch.
ROUND 1: Crochet 12 dc with blue in ch-ring, finish with 1 sl st in first dc.
ROUND 2: 3 ch + 1 tr with blue in first dc, * 1 tr with white in next dc and 2 tr with blue in next dc *, repeat from *-* 5 times, finish with 1 tr with white in last dc and 1 sl st in 3rd ch from beg of round (= a total of 18 tr).
ROUND 3: 3 ch + 1 tr with blue in first tr – SEE CROCHET TIP, 2 tr with blue in next tr, * 1 tr with white in next tr, 2 tr with blue in each of the next 2 tr *, repeat from *-* 5 times, finish with 1 tr with white in last tr and 1 sl st in 3rd ch from beg of round (= a total of 30 tr).
ROUND 4: 3 ch + 1 tr with blue in first tr, 1 tr with blue in each of the next 2 tr and 2 tr with blue in next tr, * 1 tr with white in next tr, 2 tr with blue in next tr, 1 tr with blue in each of the next 2 tr and 2 tr with blue in next tr *, repeat from *-* 5 times, finish with 1 tr with white in last tr and 1 sl st in 3rd ch from beg of round (= a total of 42 tr).
ROUND 5: 3 ch + 1 tr with blue in first tr, 1 tr with blue in each of the next 4 tr and 2 tr with blue in next tr, * 1 tr with white in next tr, 2 tr with blue in next tr, 1 tr with blue in each of the next 4 tr and 2 tr with blue in next tr *, repeat from *-* 5 times, finish with 1 tr with white in last tr and 1 sl st in 3rd ch from beg of round (= a total of 54 tr).
ROUND 6: 3 ch with white in first tr, then 1 tr with blue in same tr, * 1 tr with blue in each of the next 6 tr, in next tr crochet first 1 tr with blue and then 1 tr with white, 1 tr with white in next tr, in next tr crochet first 1 tr with white and then 1 tr with blue *, repeat from *-* 5 times, 1 tr with blue in each of the next 6 tr, in next tr crochet first 1 tr with blue and then 1 tr with white, 1 tr with white in next tr, finish with 1 sl st in 3rd ch from beg of round (= a total of 66 tr).
ROUND 7: 3 ch + 1 tr with white in first tr, * 1 tr with blue in each of the next 7 tr, 2 tr with white in next tr, 1 tr with white in each of the next 2 next tr, and 2 tr with white in next tr *, repeat from *-* 5 times, 1 tr with blue in each of the next 7 tr, 2 tr with white in next tr, then 1 tr with white in each of the next 2 tr, finish with 1 sl st in 3rd ch from beg of round (= a total of 78 tr).
ROUND 8: 3 ch with white in first tr, 1 tr with white in next tr, 2 tr with white in next tr, * then 1 tr with blue in each of the next 5 tr, 2 tr with white in next tr, 1 tr with white in each of the next 6 tr, 2 tr with white in next tr *, repeat from *-* 5 times, 1 tr with blue in each of the next 5 tr, 2 tr with white in next tr, 1 tr with white in each of the next 4 tr, finish with 1 sl st in 3rd ch from beg of round (= a total of 90 tr).
ROUND 9: 3 ch with white in first tr, 1 tr with white in each of the next 3 tr, 2 tr with white in next tr, * then 1 tr with blue in each of the next 3 tr, 2 tr with white in next tr, 1 tr with white in each of the next 10 tr, 2 tr with white in next tr *, repeat from *-* 5 times, 1 tr with blue in each of the next 3 tr, 2 tr with white in next tr, 1 tr with white in each of the next 6 tr, finish with 1 sl st in 3rd ch from beg of round (= a total of 102 tr).
ROUND 10: 3 ch with white in first tr, 1 tr with white in each of the next 5 tr, 2 tr with white in next tr, * then 1 tr with blue in next tr, 2 tr with white in next tr, 1 tr with white in each of the next 14 tr, 2 tr with white in next tr *, repeat from *-* 5 times, 1 tr with blue in next tr, 2 tr with white in next tr, 1 tr with white in each of the next 8 tr, finish with 1 sl st in 3rd ch from beg of round (= a total of 114 tr).

Now crochet a picot border with white round pot holder as follows: 1 dc in first st, * 3 ch, 1 tr in the first ch (= 1 picot), skip 2 tr, 1 dc in next tr *, repeat from *-* all the way round, finish with 15 ch (= strap), and fasten strap with 1 sl st in pot holder, crochet 1 sl st in each ch, cut and fasten thread.

POT HOLDER 2:
Cast on 12 sts on needle size 6 mm with Ice. Leave approx 30 cm thread end, and use this to tighten pot holder tog – tighten as you go along to make measuring easier. K 1 row from WS and continue in garter st. i.e. K all rows. AT THE SAME TIME work turns as follows:
*Work 1 row on the first 2 sts, turn and work return row. Work 1 row on the first 4 sts, turn and work return row. Work 1 row on the first 6 sts, turn and work return row. Work 1 row on the first 8 sts, turn and work return row. Work 1 row on the first 10 sts, turn and work return row. Work 1 row on all sts, turn and work return row. Work 1 row on all sts with 2 threads Muskat Soft, turn and work return row *, repeat from *-*. Work a total of approx 11 full repeats (piece should form a full circle). K 1 row from RS on all sts with 2 threads Muskat Soft. Continue with 2 threads Muskat Soft and now work strap as follows on next row: Work row until 2 sts remain, cast on 15 new sts, K tog the last 2 sts. On next row cast off all sts (also sts on strap). Sew cast off row to cast on row, edge to edge.
