TOE: Work 1 round with 1 single crochet in every double crochet the entire round= 26-28-28 single crochets. Insert 1 marker thread in a single crochet in each side so that there are 12-13-13 single crochets on top of foot and 12-13-13 single crochets under foot. Question - Maybe it should be 13-14-14 single crochet? Thank you very much
14.03.2021 - 21:41DROPS Design answered:
Hi Olesya, If you minus the single crochets the markers are inserted in, then there are 24-26-26 single crochets left on the round and there will be 12-13-13 single crochets between each marker-stitch. Happy crocheting!

------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATION FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- CHAIN STITCH TIP: If you work at the end of crochet hook the chain stitch will often be too tight. 1 chain stitch should be just as long as 1 double crochet/treble crochet/double treble crochet is wide. DECREASE TIP: Decrease 1 treble crochet/double crochet as follows: Work 1 treble crochet/double crochet but wait with last pull through (= 2 loops on hook), then work next treble double/double crochet but on last pull through, pull thread through all loops on hook = 1 treble crochet/double crochet decreased. ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- SOCKS - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: Work top down. SOCK: Read CHAIN STITCH TIP in explanation above! Work 42-44-47 chain stitches on hook size 5 mm with 1 strand of each colour of Delight (= 2 strands) and form 1 ring by working 1 slip stitch in first chain stitch. Continue to work in the round as follows: ROUND 1: Work 3 chain stitches (= 1 treble crochet), 1 treble crochet in each of the first 1-3-1 chain stitches, * skip 1 chain stitch, 1 treble crochet in each of the next 4 chain stitches *, work from *-* and finish with 1 slip stitch in 3rd chain stitch at beginning of round = 34-36-38 treble crochets. ROUND 2: 3 chain stitches (= 1 treble crochet), 1 treble crochet in every treble crochet the entire round, finish with 1 slip stitch in 3rd chain stitch at beginning of round = 34-36-38 treble crochets. Work as 2ND ROUND, but when 8 rounds have been worked in total from beginning of piece, decrease 1 treble crochet on each side of the first 3 chain stitches mid back - read DECREASE TIP! = 32-34-36 treble crochets. REMEMBER THE CROCHET TENSION! Continue to work treble crochet and repeat decrease again on 18th round = 30-32-34 treble crochets. Continue to work treble crochets until 19-20-21 rounds have been worked in total, and piece measures approx. 21-22-23 cm. Cut the yarn and pull it through the last stitch on hook. Now continue over the 16 treble crochets mid back (= 8 treble crochets at the end of round + 8 treble crochets at the beginning of round) as described below. HEEL: Begin from wrong side by fastening strand with 1 slip stitch in 8th stitch from beginning of round, work 1 double crochet in same stitch and then work 1 double crochet in each of the next 15 treble crochet = 16 heel stitches. Turn piece to right side. Now continue with double crochets, back and forth over heel stitches, AT THE SAME TIME decrease 1 double crochet - read DECREASE TIP - in each side on every row until 8 double crochets remain. Turn piece (work next row from right side). Insert 1 marker thread to be used to measure length of foot later. Work 1 double crochet in every double crochet, in addition work 2 new double crochets along the side of heel at the end of the row (= 10 double crochets). Continue as follows: Decrease 1 double crochet at the beginning of every row, and work 2 new double crochets along the heel at the end of every row. Continue like this until there are 16 double crochets left on row. All rows along edge of heel have been worked. Cut the yarn and pull it through the last stitch on hook. FOOT: Turn piece (work next row from right side). The beginning of round should be mid under foot, begin by fastening strand with 1 slip stitch in the middle of the 16 double crochets from heel. Then work 1 treble crochet in each heel stitch, work 4 treble crochets in transition between heel stitches and stitches from leg, work treble crochets over the 14-16-18 treble crochets from leg. Work 4 treble crochets between stitches from leg and heel stitch in the other side, and work treble crochets over the remaining heel stitches. = 38-40-42 treble crochets. Insert a marker thread on each side of the 14-16-18 stitches mid on top of foot. Continue to work as follows: ROUND 1: Work 1 treble crochet in every treble crochet and decrease 1-1-1 treble crochet before first marker thread and 1-1-1 treble crochet after second marker thread = 36-38-40 treble crochets. ROUND 2 Work 1 treble crochet in every treble crochet and decrease 1-1-1 treble crochet before first marker thread and 1-1-1 treble crochet after second marker thread = 34-36-38 treble crochets. ROUND 3: Work 1 treble crochet in every treble crochet and decrease 1-1-1 treble crochet before first marker thread and 1-1-1 treble crochet after second marker thread = 32-34-36 treble crochets. ROUND 4: Work 1 treble crochet in every treble crochet and decrease 1-1-1 treble crochet before first marker thread and 1-1-1 treble crochet after second marker thread = 30-32-34 treble crochets. ROUND 5: Work 1 treble crochet in every treble crochet and decrease 1-1-1 treble crochet before first marker thread and 1-1-1 treble crochet after second marker thread = 28-30-32 treble crochets. ROUND 6: Work 1 treble crochet in every treble crochet and decrease 1-1-2 treble crochets before first marker thread and 1-1-2 treble crochets after second marker thread = 26-28-28 treble crochets. Continue with 1 treble crochet in every treble crochet until piece measures approx. 19-19-22 cm from marker thread on heel. TOE: Work 1 round with 1 double crochet in every treble crochet the entire round= 26-28-28 double crochets. Insert 1 marker thread in a double crochet in each side so that there are 12-13-13 double crochets on top of foot and 12-13-13 double crochets under foot. Then work in the round with double crochets AT THE SAME TIME decrease 2 double crochets in each side of every other round as follows: Work until 1 double crochet remains before double crochet with marker thread, work 1 double crochet, but wait with last pull through (= 2 loops on hook), then work double crochet with marker thread, but wait with last pull through (= 3 loops on hook), work 1 double crochet in next double crochet, but on last pull through pull yarn through all loops on hook - 2 double crochets have been decreased. Continue like this until decrease have been done 3-4-4 time in each side = 14-12-12 double crochets on round. Work 1 round with 1 double crochet in every double crochet. Cut the yarn. Place sock flat with marker threads in the side, and sew together stitch against stitch. Fasten the strands. Work 1 more sock the same way. |
