Here we have first made a chain-row (ch-row). You start to crochet treble crochet (tr) in the 3rd chain from the hook or in the stitch stated in the pattern. Look here!
Figure 1: Grab the yarn with the hook so that you have 2 loops on the hook.
Figure 2: Insert the hook in the 3rd stitch form the hook, grab the yarn and pull through the chain stitch. You have 3 loops on hook.
Figure 3: Grab the yarn again and pull it through the 2 first stitches on the hook.
Figur 4: There is now 2 stitches on the hook. Grab the yarn again and pull it through the 2 remaining stitches on the hook.
Figur 5: Continue like this in each stitch on the row.
Normally you crochet treble crochet (tr) through both loops of the stitch on the row below. You will get different structures if working only in back loop, front loop or in both loops. If not stated in pattern, it will usually mean to work through both loops.
