Hello! When we get to the decrease row, we have been working with 176 stitches and we are supposed to decrease 16 stitches. We get 160 stitches. Yet the pattern says we get 154 sts. What is wrong?
22.01.2019 - 21:15DROPS Design answered:
Dear Andrea, the final number of sts is correct, the number of decreases will be edited into 22 so that you get the correct number of sts at the end. Thanks for your feedback, happy knitting!

Hello! I was wondering if you could please clarify the decreases in the last row before binding off. I asked my LYS and her suggestion was to find another pattern, but I like this one and I'm already a good chunk in. If I understand the German correctly in the responses above, you are saying it isn't supposed to be a rectangle. I don't understand why. Could you please provide some context for that? Thanks so much, Sara
06.11.2018 - 01:29DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Stephens, we have checked with our Design Team, the blaket is rectangular, and because of wave pattern you will have a different number of stitches to start with than to cast off. Happy knitting!

Knitted blanket for baby in DROPS BabyMerino. Piece is knitted with wave pattern. Theme: Baby blanket
DROPS Baby 33-4 |
|||||||||||||
EXPLANATION FOR THE PATTERN: ---------------------------------------------------------- GARTER STITCH (back and forth): 1 ridge = knit 2 rows. PATTERN: See diagrams A.1 and A.2. Diagrams show all rows in pattern seen from the right side. DECREASE TIP (evenly): To calculate how to decrease evenly, use the total number of stitches on row (e.g. 108 stitches), minus edge stitches (e.g. 6 stitches) and divide the remaining stitches by number of decreases to be done (e.g. 12) = 8.5. In this example decrease by knitting alternately every 7th and 8th stitch and every 8th and 9th stitch together. Do not decrease over edge stitches. CAST-OFF TIP: To avoid a tight cast-off edge you may use a larger needle. ---------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ---------------------------------------------------------- BLANKET - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: Blanket is worked back and forth on circular needle, bottom up. BLANKET: Cast on 132-216 stitches on circular needle size 4 mm with BabyMerino. Work first row as follows from right side: 3 edge stitches in GARTER STITCH - read explanation above, work A.1 until 3 stitches remain on row (= 6-10 repetitions of 21 stitches) and finish with 3 edge stitches in garter stitch. When A.1 has been worked, there are 108-176 stitches on row. Work next row as follows from right side: 3 edge stitches in garter stitch, work A.2 until 3 stitches remain on row (= 6-10 repetitions of 17 stitches) and finish with 3 edge stitches in garter stitch. Continue pattern like this. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! When piece measures approx. 51-78 cm, adjust after one whole repetition vertically, work 1 ridge back and forth over all stitches. AT THE SAME TIME on first row decrease 12-22 stitches evenly - read DECREASE TIP = 96-154 stitches. Cast off by knitting from right side - read CAST-OFF TIP! |
