Hallo...

------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- GARTER STITCH: Knit all rows, from both the right and wrong side. 1 ridge in height = knit 2 rows. BANDS WITH I-CORD: BEGINNING OF ROW: Work the band as follows (7 stitches): Slip 1 stitch purl-wise with yarn in front, knit 1, work 5 GARTER STITCHES (see explanation above). END OF ROW: Work the band as follows (7 stitches): Work until there are 7 stitches left on the row, work 5 garter stitches, slip 1 stitch purl-wise with yarn in front, knit 1. Work like this from both the right and wrong side. BUTTONHOLES: Work the buttonholes on the right band (when the garment is worn) from the right side, when there are 5 stitches left on the row as follows: ROW 1 (right side): Make 1 yarn over, knit 2 together, knit 1, slip 1 stitch purl-wise with the strand in front, knit 1. ROW 2 (wrong side): Work the band as before, knitting the yarn over to leave a hole. The first buttonhole is worked on the first row from the right side after the neck is finished. Then work the other 6 buttonholes with 7-7½-8-8-8-8½-9 cm between each one. The bottom buttonhole is worked in the transition between the stocking stitch and rib on the body. PATTERN: See diagrams A.1 to A.3. The diagrams show the pattern from the right side. RAGLAN: All increases are worked from the right side! Increase 1 stitch by making 1 yarn over, which is worked as follows on the next row: BEFORE THE RAGLAN-STITCHES (stitch twists to the left): Purl through the stitch loop that lies on the back of the needle (avoids a hole). Continue the new stitches in stocking stitch. AFTER THE RAGLAN-STITCHES (stitch twists to the right): Slip the yarn over from the left needle to the right needle purl-wise, then replace it by inserting the left needle through the back (the yarn over is the other way round). Purl through the stitch loop that lies on the front of the needle (avoids a hole). Continue the new stitches in stocking stitch. INCREASE TIP: When increasing evenly on the first round of rib, it is important to increase in the stitches that will subsequently be purled, so the knitted stitches continue neatly from the stocking stitch. SLEEVE TIP: When knitting up stitches under the sleeve, you can get a small hole in the transition between stitches on the body and sleeve. This hole can be closed by picking up the strand between 2 stitches and working this strand twisted together with the first stitch between body and sleeve. DECREASE TIP: Decrease 1 stitch on each side of the marker-thread as follows: Work until there are 3 stitches left before the marker-thread, knit 2 together, knit 2 (marker-thread sits between these 2 stitches), slip 1 stitch knit-wise, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch (2 stitches decreased). ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- JACKET – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE. The pattern uses both long and short needles; start with the length which fits the number of stitches and change when necessary. The neck and yoke are worked back and forth with circular needle, from mid front and top down, increasing for raglan. When the yoke is finished, it is divided for body and sleeves and the body continued back and forth, while the sleeves wait. The sleeves are worked in the round, top down. NECK: Cast on 124-124-124-144-144-144-144 stitches with circular needle size 2.5 mm and DROPS Karisma or DROPS Puna. Purl 1 row from the wrong side. Work as follows from the right side: 7 stitches according to BANDS WITH I-CORD – read explanation above, work rib (knit 2 and purl 2) until there are 9 stitches left, knit 2 and work 7 stitches according to bands with I-cord. Continue this rib for 4-4-4-4-5-5-5 cm. Insert 1 marker after 1 band (mid-front); the piece is now measured from here. YOKE: Change to circular needle size 4 mm. Insert 8 markers without working the stitches, and the markers inserted on each side of 6 stitches (which increase to 7 stitches on first row; raglan-stitches). You increase for raglan on each side of the raglan-stitches. The raglan-stitches are worked in PATTERN – read explanation above. Count 17-17-17-21-21-21-21 stitches (= left front piece), insert marker-1 before the next stitch, count 6 stitches (= raglan-stitches), insert marker-2 before the next stitch, count 22-22-22-26-26-26-26 stitches (= sleeve), insert marker-3 before the next stitch, count 6 stitches (= raglan-stitches), insert marker-4 before the next stitch, count 22-22-22-26-26-26-26 stitches (= back piece), insert marker-5 before the next stitch, count 6 stitches (= raglan-stitches), insert marker-6 before the next stitch, count 22-22-22-26-26-26-26 stitches (= sleeve), insert marker-7 before the next stitch, count 6 stitches (= raglan-stitches), insert marker-8 before the next stitch. There are 17-17-17-21-21-21-21 stitches left (= right front piece). Continue with stocking stitch, 7 band-stitches on each side, pattern across the raglan-stitches and increase for RAGLAN on each side of the raglan-stitches – read explanation above for how to increase. Work as follows: ROW 1 (right side): Work the band as before, knit 10-10-10-14-14-14-14, increase 1 stitch for raglan, work A.1 between markers 1 and 2, increase 1 stitch for raglan, knit 22-22-22-26-26-26-26 (= sleeve), increase 1 stitch for raglan, work A.1 between markers 3 and 4, increase 1 stitch for raglan, knit 22-22-22-26-26-26-26 (= back piece), increase 1 stitch for raglan, work A.1 between markers 5 and 6, increase 1 stitch for raglan, knit 22-22-22-26-26-26-26 (= sleeve), increase 1 stitch for raglan, work A.1 between markers 7 and 8, increase 1 stitch for raglan, knit 10-10-10-14-14-14-14 and work the band as before – remember to work the first BUTTONHOLE – read explanation above = 136-136-136-156-156-156-156 stitches. ROW 2 (wrong side): Continue stocking stitch, pattern and bands; remember to work the yarn overs as described under RAGLAN. A.1 is now finished. ROW 3 (right side): Continue stocking stitch and bands, but work A.2 between markers 1 and 2 and markers 5 and 6, work A.3 between markers 3 and 4 and markers 7 and 8. Increase for raglan on each side of the raglan-stitches (8 increased stitches). ROW 4 (wrong side): Continue stocking stitch, pattern and bands; remember to work the yarn overs as described under RAGLAN. Work ROWS 3 and 4 a total of 10-16-17-19-22-21-22 times (22-34-36-40-46-44-46 rows worked after the neck) = 216-264-272-308-332-324-332 stitches. Remember to maintain the knitting tension. Now increase for raglan as follows: ROW 1 (right side): Continue stocking stitch, pattern and the bands, increasing for raglan on each side of the raglan-stitches (8 increased stitches). ROW 2 (wrong side): Continue stocking stitch, pattern and bands; yarn overs worked as before. ROW 3 (right side): Continue stocking stitch, pattern and bands and increase for raglan only on the front and back pieces, i.e., BEFORE markers 1 and 5 and AFTER markers 4 and 8; do not increase on the sleeves (4 increased stitches). ROW 4 (wrong side): Continue stocking stitch, pattern and bands; yarn overs worked as before. Work ROWS 1 to 4 a total of 8-6-7-6-6-8-9 times (32-24-28-24-24-32-36 rows worked: 8-6-7-6-6-8-9 increases in height on the sleeves and 16-12-14-12-12-16-18 increases in height on the front and back pieces). AT THE SAME TIME, on the last row from the right side, decrease 1 stitch across each cable in the raglan-lines (4 stitches decreased and 6 raglan-stitches between the markers). All the increases for raglan are finished and the cables are finished: a total of 19-23-25-26-29-30-32 increases in height on the sleeves and 27-29-32-32-35-38-41 increases in height on the front and back pieces = 308-332-352-376-400-416-436 stitches. Continue stocking stitch across all stitches, with 7 band-stitches on each side until the yoke measures 20-21-23-23-25-27-29 cm from the marker mid-front. Now divide for the body and sleeves. DIVIDE FOR BODY AND SLEEVES: When dividing, the raglan-stitches will be slightly inside on the front and back pieces: Work 7 band-stitches as before, 43-46-50-55-59-62-67 stocking stitches (= front piece), place the next 60-66-68-72-76-78-78 stitches on a thread/stitch holder for the sleeve, cast on 8-10-12-14-16-20-24 stitches (mid-under the sleeve), work 88-94-102-108-116-122-132 stocking stitches (= back piece), place the next 60-66-68-72-76-78-78 stitches on a thread/stitch holder for the sleeve, cast on 8-10-12-14-16-20-24 stitches (mid-under the sleeve), work 43-46-50-55-59-62-67 stocking stitches and 7 band-stitches as before (= front piece). The body and sleeves are finished separately. BODY: = 204-220-240-260-280-300-328 stitches. Continue stocking stitch and bands until the piece measures 43-45-47-47-49-51-53 cm from the marker mid-front. On the next row from the right side, begin the rib, AT THE SAME TIME increase 52-56-56-60-64-72-76 stitches evenly on the first row – read INCREASE TIP = 256-276-296-320-344-372-404 stitches, working as follows: Change to circular needle size 2.5 mm. Work the band as before, rib (knit 2 and purl 2 – remember to increase) until there are 9 stitches left, knit 2 and work the band as before. When the rib measures 4-4-4-5-5-5-5 cm, cast off with knit above knit and purl above purl. The jacket measures approx. 47-49-51-52-54-56-58 cm from the marker mid-front and 52-54-56-58-60-62-64 cm from the shoulder. SLEEVES: Place the 60-66-68-72-76-78-78 sleeve-stitches from one thread/stitch holder onto circular needle size 4 mm and knit up 1 stitch in each of the 8-10-12-14-16-20-24 cast-on stitches under the sleeve – read SLEEVE TIP = 68-76-80-86-92-98-102 stitches. Insert a marker-thread in the middle of the 8-10-12-14-16-20-24 new stitches under the sleeve. The round starts by the marker-thread. Work stocking stitch in the round. AT THE SAME TIME, after 1 row, decrease mid-under the sleeve – read DECREASE TIP as follows: Decrease 2 stitches 2-2-2-3-3-4-4 times every 2nd row, then 2 stitches 3-6-6-7-9-10-11 times every 2-2-2-2-1½-1½-1½ cm = 58-60-64-66-68-70-72 stitches. Continue working until the sleeve measures 36-36-35-33-32-31-30 cm from the division. Change to double pointed needles size 2.5 mm. Work rib (knit 2 and purl 2), AT THE SAME TIME increase 22-24-24-22-24-26-28 stitches evenly on the first round = 80-84-88-88-92-96-100 stitches. When the rib measures 8-8-8-10-10-10-10 cm, cast off with rib. The sleeve measures approx. 44-44-43-43-42-41-40 cm from the division. ASSEMBLY: Sew the buttons onto the left band. |
