Hallo!

------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- RIDGE/GARTER STITCH (worked back and forth): Knit all rows. 1 ridge in height = Knit 2 rows. PATTERN: See diagrams A.1 to A.3. Choose diagram for your size (applies to A.2). The diagrams show all rows in the pattern from the right side. INCREASE TIP (for sleeves): Increase on the inside of the edge stitch. All increases are worked from the right side! Increase 1 stitch by making 1 yarn over. On the next row work the yarn over twisted to avoid a hole. Then work the new stitch into A.1. CASTING-OFF TIP: To avoid the cast-off edge being tight you can cast off with a larger size needle. If the edge is still tight, make 1 yarn over after approx. each 6th stitch at the same time as casting off; the yarn overs are cast off as normal stitches. ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- JUMPER – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: The piece is worked in sections, back and forth with circular needle and bottom up. The piece is sewn together and a ribbed neck worked to finish. BACK PIECE: Cast on 112-118-126-138-150-162 stitches (including 1 edge stitch on each side) with circular needle size 3 mm and Cotton Light or Sky. Purl 1 row (= wrong side). The next row is worked as follows from the right side: 1 edge stitch in GARTER STITCH – read description above, * knit 1, purl 1 *, work from *-* until there is 1 stitch left and work 1 edge stitch in garter stitch. Continue this rib for 2 cm. Change to circular needle size 4 mm and work 2 rows of stocking stitch with 1 edge stitch in garter stitch on each side; at the same time decrease 1 stitch on the first row = 111-117-125-137-149-161 stitches. Then continue as follows from the right side: 1 edge stitch in garter stitch, 0-3-1-2-2-2 stitches in stocking stitch, work A.1 over the next 24-24-30-30-36-42 stitches (= 4-4-5-5-6-7 repeats of 6 stitches), work the first 3 stitches in A.1 so A.1 is symmetrical, work A.2 (= 25-25-25-29-29-29 stitches), A.3 (= 5-5-5-7-7-7 stitches), A.2 (= 25-25-25-29-29-29 stitches), A.1 over the next 24-24-30-30-36-42 stitches (= 4-4-5-5-6-7 repeats of 6 stitches), work the first 3 stitches in A.1 so A.1 is symmetrical, work 0-3-1-2-2-2 stitches in stocking stitch and 1 edge stitch in garter stitch. Continue this pattern. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! When the piece measures 28-29-30-31-32-33 cm, cast off for the armholes at the beginning of each row as follows: Cast off 3 stitches 1-1-1-1-2-2 times, 2 stitches 0-1-1-3-4-4 times and 1 stitch 3-2-4-4-3-7 times on each side = 99-103-107-111-115-119 stitches. When the piece measures 45-47-49-51-53-55 cm, decrease 4 stitches mid-back by knitting together 2 stitches in both of the middle 2 cables = 95-99-103-107-111-115 stitches. On the next row cast off the middle 33-33-35-35-37-37 stitches for the neck and each shoulder is finished separately. Continue the pattern and cast off 2 stitches at the beginning of the next row from the neck = 29-31-32-34-35-37 stitches on the shoulder. Work until the piece measures 46-48-50-52-54-56 cm. Knit 1 row from the right side where you decrease 2 stitches evenly spaced = 27-29-30-32-33-35 stitches. Knit 1 row from the wrong side. Cast off with knit from the right side. Work the other shoulder in the same way. The back piece measures approx. 47-49-51-53-55-57 cm from the shoulder down. FRONT PIECE: Cast on as many stitches as on the back piece and work in the same way until the piece measures 38-40-41-43-44-46 cm. On the next row from the right side, decrease 4 stitches mid-front by knitting together 2 stitches in both of the middle 2 cables = 95-99-103-107-111-115 stitches. On the next row place the middle 13-13-15-15-17-17 stitches on 1 thread for the neck and each shoulder is finished separately. Continue as before and cast off at the beginning of each row from the neck as follows: Cast off 3 stitches 1 time, 2 stitches 3 times and 1 stitch 3 times = 29-31-32-34-35-37 stitches on the shoulder. Continue working until the piece measures 46-48-50-52-54-56 cm. Knit 1 row from the right side where you decrease 2 stitches evenly spaced = 27-29-30-32-33-35 stitches. Knit 1 row from the wrong side. Cast off with knit from the right side. Work the other shoulder in the same way. The front piece measures approx. 47-49-51-53-55-57 cm from the shoulder down. SLEEVE: Cast on 46-48-50-52-54-56 stitches (including 1 edge stitch on each side) with circular needle size 3 mm and Cotton Light or Sky. Purl 1 row (= wrong side). Then work rib (knit 1, purl 1) with 1 edge stitch in garter stitch on each side for 2 cm. Change to circular needle size 4 mm. Work 2 rows of stocking stitch with 1 edge stitch in garter stitch on each side. Then continue as follows (row 1 = right side): 1 edge stitch in garter stitch, 1-2-0-1-2-0 stitches in stocking stitch, work A.1 until there are 2-3-1-2-3-1 stitches left on the row, work 1-2-0-1-2-0 stitches in stocking stitch and 1 edge stitch in garter stitch. Continue this pattern. When the sleeve measures 4-4-8-5-9-6 cm, increase 1 stitch on each side – read INCREASE TIP. Increase like this every 3-2½-2-2-1½-1½ cm a total of 14-16-17-19-20-22 times on each side = 74-80-84-90-94-100 stitches. When the sleeve measures 45-44-44-43-41-40 cm (shorter measurements in larger sizes due to longer sleeve cap and broader shoulders), cast off for the sleeve cap at the beginning of each row as follows: Cast off 3 stitches 1-1-1-1-2-2 times, 2 stitches 2-2-2-3-3-3 times and 1 stitch 2-4-4-4-6-7 times on each side. Then cast off 2 stitches on each side until the sleeve measures 50 cm in all sizes. Cast off 3 stitches 1 time on each side. Then cast off the remaining stitches. The sleeve measures approx. 51 cm from the top down in all sizes. Work the other sleeve in the same way. ASSEMBLY: Sew the shoulder seams inside the cast-off edges. Sew the sleeves to the body, inside the 1 edge stitch on the body. Sew the sleeve and side seams in one go, inside the 1 edge stitch. NECK: Starting from the right side on the one shoulder, knit up 90 to 110 stitches around the neck (including the stitches on the thread in front) with short circular needle size 3 mm and Cotton Light or Sky – the number of stitches should be divisible by 2. Work rib in the round (knit 1, purl 1) for 3 cm. Cast off with knit over knit and purl over purl – read CASTING-OFF TIP! |
