Knitting Tension: 24sts x 32 rows on needles size 3mm in stocking st = 10x10cm. Pattern: See diagram (1 diagram = 1 repeat). Pattern is seen from RS, and is worked in stocking st. Rib: *K1, P1* Left leg: Cast on 58-60 (64-64) sts on circ needles size 2.5mm with navy. Work 3 cm rib. Change to circ needles size 3mm. Work M.3. and at the same time inc 26-24 (32-32) sts evenly on 1st round = 84-84 (96-96) sts. Continue until piece measures 17-18 (20-25) cm. Divide piece on inside of leg and finish working back and forth on needle (don’t divide in middle of a pattern repeat). Inc 1 st each side for seam = 86-86 (98-98) sts. Remember to check knitting tension. Continue until piece measures 19-20 (22-27) cm. Dec 4 sts each side = 78-78 (90-90) sts. Put work aside. Right leg: Work as left leg. Body: Put left right and left leg on a circ needle = 156-156 (180-180) sts. Continue in pattern. Remember to check knitting tension. Inc centre back each side of 2 centre sts on every other round as follows: 1 st 9 times. (there will be 1 more complete repeat). At the same time dec centre front each side of 2 centre sts on every other round as follows: 1 st 3 times = 168-168 (192-192) sts. Continue until piece measures 25-26 (28-33) cm. Cast off 6 sts centre front for slit and finish piece working back and forth on needle. (make sure the outermost triangles each side of the band are complete - or they won’t be worked). Continue until piece measures 44-48 (53-58) cm. Next row: work 34-34 (39-39) sts across front, cast off 4-4 (6-6) sts for arm hole, work 86-86 (96-96) sts across back, cast off 4-4 (6-6) sts for arm hole, work 34-34 (39-39) sts across front. Finish each piece separately. Left front: 34-34 (39-39) sts. Dec for arm hole on every other row as follows: 1 st twice = 32-32 (37-37) sts. Continue until piece measures 50-55 (61-67) cm. Work M.2 and then finish piece in navy. At the same time when piece measures 53-58 (65-71) cm, cast off for neck on every other row as follows: 6-7 (9-10) sts once, 2 sts once, 1 st twice. Continue until piece measures 57-62 (68-74) cm. Cast off remaining sts for shoulder. Right front: Work as left front. Back: = 86-86 (96-96) sts. Dec for arm hole on every other row as follows: 1 st twice = 82-82 (92-92) sts. (Back will be bigger than front but is gathered when assembling). Continue until piece measures 50-60 (66-72) cm. Put centre 34-36 (40-42) sts for neck on a thread. Dec each side of neck on every other row: 1 st twice. Continue until piece measures 57-62 (68-74) cm. Cast off remaining sts. Sleeve: Cast on 38-40 (40-42) sts on double pointed needles size 2.5mm with navy. Work 2-2 (3-3) cm rib. Change to needles size 3mm, work M.3 and at the same time inc 0-1 (4-3) sts evenly on first round = 38-41 (44-45) sts. Inc sts underneath sleeve as follows: 2 sts 12-13 (14-16) times for 3months: alternatively on every 2nd and every 3rd round, for 6/9 months: alternatively every 3rd and 4th round, for 12/18 months+ 24 months: every 3rd round = 62-67 (72-77) sts. Continue until sleeve measures 7-13 (13-16) cm. Work M.2 and at the same time when sleeve measures 12.5-18 (18-21) cm, cast off 6 sts centrally underneath sleeve and finish piece working back and forth on needle. Dec each side on every other row as follows: 5 sts 2-3 (3-3) times. Complete M.2 and then cast off. Sleeve measures approx 14-20 (20-23) cm. Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Left band: Pick up approx 64-70 (76-82) sts along left front on needle size 2.5mm with navy and work 2.5cm rib. Cast off. Right band: Pick up and work as left band but after 1 cm make 5 button holes evenly spaced – 1 button hole= cast off 2 sts, cast on 2 sts on next round. Pick up 80- 90 sts around neck on circ needle size 2.5mm with navy and work 2 cm rib and at the same time dec 14 sts evenly across sts from thread on back. Cast off. Sew button bands at bottom by slit. Sew seam between legs. Sew sleeves to body in edge st to avoid seam being too bulky. Sew in buttons. HAT Size: 3 – 6/9 (12/18 -24) months Head measurement: 40-45 (50-50) cm. Materials: DROPS Safran from Garnsdtudio 50-50 (50-50) g col 009, navy Remnants of all pattern colours from suit DROPS double pointed needles: 2.5mm and 3mm, or the size needed to obtain the correct knitting tension. Knitting Tension: 24sts x 32 rows on needles size 3mm in stocking st = 10x10cm. Rib: *K1, P1* Hat: Cast on 96-108 (120-120) sts on double pointed needles size 2.5mm with navy and work 2 cm rib. Change to double pointed needles size 3mm and work M.1 and then finish hat in navy. Continue until hat measures 14-15 (15-16) cm. Put a marker or a thread for each 24-27 (30-30) st. Dec each side of marker on every round as follows: 1 st 11-11 (12-12) times = 16-20 (24-24) sts. Work next round as follows: K2tog entire round. Pull thread through remaining sts and sew. Ear flaps x 2: Cast on 9 sts on needle size 2.5mm with navy and work 20 cm rib. Inc each side alternatively on every and every other row until 23-25 (25-27) sts. Continue until flap measures 8-8 (9-9) cm. Sew flaps to hat from WS (sew in the first stocking st round). Allow 8 cm space between flaps at back. SOCKS Size: 3 – 6/9 (12/18 -24) months. Length of foot: 10-11 (12.5-14.5) cm. Materials: DROPS Safran from Garnsdtudio 50-50 (50-50) g col 19, red DROPSdouble pointed needles: 2.5mm and 3mm. Ribbon. Knitting Tension: 24sts x 32 rows on needles size 3mm in stocking st = 10x10cm. Rib: *K1, P1* Sock: Cast on 34-36 (36-38) sts on double pointed needles size 3.5mm with red. Work 1.5cm rib. Change to double pointed needles size 3mm and work stocking st until sock measures 7-8 (8-9) cm. Heel: Work 3 cm in stocking st back and forth on needle over centre back 18 sts. Decrease for heel: (1st row RS): 1st row: K10, K2tog back of loop, K1, turn. 2nd row: S1, P4, P2tog, P1, turn. 3rd row: S1, K5, K2tog back of loop, K1, turn. 4th row: S1, P6, P2tog, P1, turn. 5th row: S1, K7, K2tog back of loop, K1, turn. 6th row: S1, P8, P2tog, P1, turn. 7th row: K2tog, K8, K2tog back of loop = 10 sts left on needle. Pick up 7-7 (8-8) sts each side of heel and put all sts on one needle = 40-42 (44-46) sts. Dec each side of the 16-18 (18-20) sts on top of foot on every row as follows: 1 st 4-4 (5-5) times = 32-34 (34-36) sts. Continue until foot measures 7-8 (9-11) cm (measured from start of heel dec). Dec for toes at beginning of every other row (4 dec in all) 1 st 4-4 (5-5) times, 1 st twice on every round. Pull double thread through remaining sts and fasten. Insert ribbon through holes. Mittens: Size: 3 – 6/9 (12/18 -24) months. Hand length of mitten: 8-10 (10-11) cm. Materials: Drops Safran 100% Egyptian cotton 50 g= 160m 50-50 (50-50) g col 019, red Drops double pointed needles: 2.5mm and 3mm. Knitting Tension: 24sts x 32 rows on needles size 3mm in stocking st = 10x10cm. Rib: *K1, P1* Mittens: Cast on 34-34 (36-36) sts on double pointed needles size 2.5mm with red and work 6 cm rib. Change to double pointed needles size 3mm and work stocking st and at the same time inc 0-4 (2-4) sts on 1st round = 34-38 (38-40) sts. Continue until piece measures 11-12 (12-13) cm.
