In this DROPS video we show how to decrease to shape the toe on a knitted sock.

We show here a basic decrease for toe - there are many variations. We insert a marker each side with same number of sts on needles on upper and under foot.
Then dec for toe on each side of both markers and 2 K sts each side as follows – beg 3 sts before end of needle in first side: slip 1 st, K1, pass slipped st over, place marker, K1, on next needle K1, K2 tog. Repeat the dec on each side of foot on every row as in video, or on every other row for a longer toe, until 8 sts left on needle. Cut the thread, pull through remaining sts and fasten.

Bonjour Mme Leone, cliquez sur le menu juste entre la description de la vidéo et les modèles en exemple pour modifier la langue - pour ce qui est de la taille des aiguilles, tout dépend du modèle, ceci ne montre que la technique, suivez bien votre modèle . Bon tricot!

Stitch part. Do you mean continue the rib part and also the st. Stitch part. It is unclear. Then after the 8cm do you do all st. Stitch as the pattern picture shows ribbing? Do you switch to two needles when you say 20 on each needle to do toe decreasing. More details would be appreciated.

DROPS Design :

Dear Mrs Taylor, you will now knit the knit stitches and purl the purl stitches, in other words you will continue in rib on upper foot and stocking stitch on under foot (as before). Before decreasing for toe, insert 2 markers on each side of socks (when worn) just as shown in this video, then continue (as in the video) in the round over all stitches (and how many needles you like to, but you can continue with 3 or 4 needles as before) until all decreases are done. Bonjour Cloclo, divisez vos mailles en 2 parties et placez 2 marqueurs pour délimiter ces 2 zones: l'une est pour le dessus du pied et l'autre pour le dessous (quand on porte la chaussette). Diminuez ensuite comme indiqué et montré dans la vidéo: 1 m avant le marqueur, 1 m après le marqueur et répétez à l'autre marqueur. Pour la fréquence des diminutions, référez-vous au modèle. Effectivement, on ne voit pas ces diminutions dans la vidéo, autant pour moi. Pour diminuer pour le pied, procédez comme indiqué dans les explications : en général on diminue avant et après les mailles du dessus du pied - différentes vidéos montrent les types de diminution employées. Bonjour Madame François, cette vidéo existe et vous la trouverez dans l'index sous "Chaussettes au tricot - talon de base" où l'on montre les diminutions du talon puis comment on relève les mailles le long du talon. Les diminutions se font ensuite de part et d'autre des mailles du dessus du pied. Bon tricot !

In this DROPS video, we show you how to knit a sock with a gusset heel - arguably the most common method for working a heel. To begin, the stitches on top of the foot are placed on a thread, while the stitches at the back are kept on the needles and the heel is worked as follows: 1) The heel is first worked in height, back and forth across the heel-stitches. 2) Next, the bottom of the heel is worked to the required width and length by working short rows and decreasing stitches. 3) Once this step is completed, continue knitting in the round across all stitches, knitting up stitches on both sides of the heel (along the length). 4) The width and shape of the foot is worked by decreasing stitches on both sides, forming a small gusset heel – that is why this type of heel is known as a gusset heel.

In this DROPS video we show how to work the “Carrot Squash” slippers in DROPS 203-37. We have already cast on stitches for size 35/37 and start the video by showing round 1 (only Knit). Then the rib, K1, P1. After the rib put 31 stitches on a stitch holder, work the other stitches back and forth. Then work these stitches, the new pickup stitches along the sides and the stitches from the stitch holder, and work around again. Decrease stitches and work around to finish measurement, cast off and fold the slipper and sew under foot in the outermost loop of the outermost stitch.
