Is this pattern available in youth sizes? I’m specifically wondering about US youth size 4-5 or EU size 37.

I have just wondered if you can tell what the width measurement across the front should be, the length is good but it looks wide across the front thanks
30.11.2017 - 22:53DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Halon, if your gauge is correct, you should get the correct measurements for each size. Garter st is quite elastic and will adjust for wider feet if necessary. Happy knitting!

I'm using super bulky yarn and size 5 mm needles as directed. But my gauge is way off - 17 stitches span 6.5 inches. My knitting is not loose, and the fabric is quite dense, so I'm reluctant to go to a smaller needle size. Am I missing something? Thanks for your help.
02.12.2016 - 01:07DROPS Design answered:
Dear Maureen, you should have 17 sts = 10 cm (= 4") in width with Drops Peak with needle size 5 mm - or adjust the needle size to get correct tension. Slippers are knitted here with a tighter tension as usual for Drops Peak to get the desired texture. Happy knitting!

Bon tricot!

When working the foot, the directions state "piece measures 2 cm / 3/4'', K 2 sts tog on each side of every marker on every other round (= 4 sts less per round) continue dec until piece measures 3-3-4-4-5-5 cm / 1 1/8''-1 1/8''-1½''-1½''-2''-2'' - bind off." This does not seem to make a long enough foot. How can we only stitch 3 cm out from the heel and then bind off? Is there more to this?
19.01.2016 - 04:40DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Dodson, the video below shows how to work the slippers in 1st size and should help you to vizualize how they will be. Happy knitting!

18.10.2015 - 09:17DROPS Design answered:
Hoi Marcella.

When middle piece measures 4-4-5-6-6-7 cm, dec 1 edge st in each side = 12-12-12-14-14-14 sts. Then slip the sts from stitch holder back on needle and pick up 7-7-9-10-10-12 sts on each side of middle part (inside 1 edge st) = 42-45-52-57-61-68 sts on needle. NOW MEASURE PIECE FROM HERE. Insert 1 marker mid front of toe and 1 marker mid back on heel. Continue in the round in garter st. When piece measures 2 cm, K 2 sts tog on each side of every marker on every other round (= 4 sts less per round) continue dec until piece measures 3-3-4-4-5-5 cm - cast off. Sew seams under foot in outer loops of edge sts to avoid a chunky seam. LOOSE LEG WORKED ACROSS: Cast on 13 sts on needle size 5 mm with Peak or Snow. Work 2 ridges in GARTER ST back and forth - see explanation above - on last row inc 4 sts evenly = 17 sts. Work according to A.1 (= 17 sts) until piece measures approx. 18-20-22-24-26-28 cm, on last row dec 2 sts over every cable in A.1 = 13 sts. Work 2 ridges and cast off. Place cast-on edge over cast-off edge and sew on 2 buttons for decoration through the leg. Pull leg 2 cm down on foot with buttons on the outside of slipper and sew leg to cast-on edge on slipper from WS with invisible stitches. Knit another slipper the same way, make sure that the leg are sewn on in the opposite side. |
