Is the yoke done partly in stockinette and garter, and do you have a video for the decrease raglan? There are time when the sleeve is before the body as well as after. Your help is much appreciated. thank you.

Dear Lorna, the on the yoke the buttonbands are done with garter stitch, and then, the neck-edge. Also, all the relevant videos we have for this pattern can be found if you click the "Videos" sign, at the top of the pattern, just below the title. Happy Knitting!

18.04.2021 - 11:37DROPS Design answered:
Dear Renu, the mid front is where the two sides meet at the middle of the front. Since the body of this cardigan is knitted in one, the first few and last few stitches on the needle, later, when the stitches are divided to front and back, it is the edge, where you knitted the band. Happy Knitting!

Knitting tension: Jacket: 21 sts x 28 rows on needle size 4mm in stocking sts = 10 x 10 cm. Bonnet and socks: 22 sts x 30 rows on needle size 3.5 mm in stocking sts = 10 x 10 cm. Garter sts: knit all rows. Pattern: See diagrams M.1 to M.3. The diagrams are seen from the RS. Dereasing tips (apply to raglan): There are 3 sts in stocking sts between raglan dec, 1 of these sts is on the body piece and 2 are on the sleeve. All dec are done from the RS. Dec as follows after 3 sts in stocking sts: K2 tog. Dec as follows before 3 sts in garter sts: slip 1 st as if to knit, K1, psso. Buttonhole: Make 4 buttonholes on right front edge from the RS. 1 buttonhole = cast off the 3rd st from the edge and make a yo over the cast off st on the return row. Make buttonholes as follows: Size 1/3 months: 4, 9, 14 and 19 cm Size 6/9 months: 5, 10, 15 and 20 cm Size 12/18 months: 5, 11, 16 and 22 cm Size 24 months: 6, 12, 18 and 24 cm ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Back and front piece: The jacket is knitted back and forth on circular needle from mid front. Cast on 137-151-165-179 sts (incl 4 front edge sts each side towards mid front) on needle size 3 mm with Muskat. Knit M.1 with 4 front edge sts in garter sts each side. When piece measures 3 cm change to needle size 4 mm. Knit one row, at the same time dec all P4 to P3 = 119-131-143-155 sts. Continue in M.2 (make sure K is K and P is over P). At the same time when piece measures 4 cm inc 1 st each side on every 10-7-10-11 row a total of 3-5-4-5 times = 44-48-52-54 sts – P the inc sts. When piece measures 16-17-19-23 cm cast off 4 sts each side for armhole = 36-40-44-46 sts left. Knit another sleeve. Yoke: Put sleeves in on the same needle as body piece where you cast off for armholes = 179-199-219-235 sts. Insert a marking thread in all transitions between sleeve and body pieces = 4 MT. Continue in stocking sts and 4 front edge sts each side in garter sts. Remember buttonhole on right front edge! At the same time when piece measures 23-25-27-30 cm put 9-10-11-12 sts mid front on thread for neck and dec to shape the neckline on every other row: 2 sts 1 time and 1 st 2 times. After all dec for raglan and neckline have been completed = 41-51-53-59 left. Knit 1 row in stocking sts, at the same time dec 10-16-16-20 sts evenly (do not dec over the 3 raglan sts) = 31-35-37-39 sts. Piece measures approx 27-29-32-35 cm. Cast off when the middle piece measures 8-9-10-11 cm. Sew to side pieces. Fold 3 cm of the Rib at front towards the RS and attach with neat sts at the bottom.
