How to knit raglan back and forth

In this DROPS video we show how to knit raglan back and forth on a circular needle.

Slip sleeves on the same needle as body piece where bind off for armholes. Insert a marker in all transitions between body piece and sleeves. Now dec for raglan.

In this video we decrease each side of 2 sts at each transition on every other row, i.e. every row from RS, this gives 4 sts in stockinette at each transition.
Start 3 sts before marker; K2 tog, K1, marker, K1, slip 1 st as if to K, K1, psso. (For 2 stockinette sts in each transition: Start 2 sts before marker; K2 tog, marker, slip 1 st as if to K, K1, psso).

The raglan decrease instructions say to start 2 sts before the raglan marker but then say to k2 tog, k1 (place raglan marker in this stitch), slip 1, k1, psso. Is this right? Or do I do what you state on the video for patterns decreasing 2sts before the raglan? i.e. k2tog, marker, s1,k1,psso

Dear Lisa, there are different ways to decrease for raglan, for the Blueberry Festival you will decrease on each side of the stitch with a marker in: work until 2 sts remain before the stitch with a marker in, then K2 tog, K the stitch with the marker, and slip 1, K1, psso after the marker. DROPS Design :

Dear Mrs Sutton, decrease just as explained in the pattern, ie decrease for both sleeves (and for both front pieces/back piece) so that you decrease the correct number of stitches as stated in the pattern (8 sts if you decrease for both body and sleeves, 4 sts for only sleeves). Happy knitting!

Hei Gitte. Du har nå satt 4 merker i hver overgang mellom erme og for/bakstykke og 1 merke midt foran. Det skal nå strikkes videre frem og tilbake på pinne fra høyre ”raglanåpning” foran (når plagget ligger flatt foran deg). Start med å felle 3 masker på hver side av merketråden ved denne ”raglanåpningen”. Altså fell 3 masker, strikk pinnen ut med M.2 med 1 kantmaske i hver side slik at mønsteret stemmer over bol og erme videre oppover, SAMTIDIG startes det å felle til raglan på 1.p fra retten), snu arbeidet og fell 3 masker. Du har nå felt 3 masker på hver side av "raglanåpningen", felt 8 masker til raglan og strikket M.2). mvh DROPS Design

Hej Elisabeth. Du använder en flätsticka för att det ska skapas en fläta vid raglan. Du gör minskningarna till raglan 4 maskor in från varje sida, dvs du stickar 4 m slätstickning och sedan minskar du till raglan enligt beskrivning i beskrivningen "på varannan cm: 2 m 4-3 (1-1) ggr, 3 m 7-9 (11-12) ggr - se Raglanavm ovan!". Bonjour Mme Laustriat, ces marqueurs sont ici placés pour bien repérer où faire les diminutions, si vous voulez repérer le nombre de diminutions que vous avez fait, vous pouvez par exemple placer un fil marqueur que vous passerez alternativement devant/derrière (sur l'endroit/sur l'envers) et qui vous permettra alors de compter le nombre de diminutions que vous aurez faites. Bon tricot!

In this DROPS video we show how we increase to raglan and at the same time work short rows. Put 4 markers as explained in the in the pattern you are knitting after and cut the thread. Now you start working front left of neck when garment is worn. Start from the right side, 2 stitches before marker-stitch-3 and work after pattern (stocking stitch / after charts) and increase to raglan before and after the 4 markers until you have worked to 2 stitches past marker-stitch-2 (8 stitches increased for raglan). Turn, tighten the strand and work back from the wrong side to 2 stitches past where the short rows began by marker-3. Continue with short rows as it says in the pattern and when the short rows are finish, cut the thread and now it starts mid-back again. Work the yarn overs / the increases as it says in the pattern, and remember that the yarn overs / increases are worked differently, before/after the marker and from the right side/from wrong side We use the yarn DROPS Snow in the video. In this DROPS video, we show how to increase with yarn over from the right side, both before a mark and after a mark, and how to work the increases from the wrong side. To get the yarn over to face neatly towards each other from the wrong side, work like this before the marker: Work in the back loop of the yarn over (no hole). After the marker work like this: Slip the yarn over off the left needle, then replace it the other way round (insert the left needle from the back when replacing it). In this DROPS video we show how to work yarn over differently so that they are towards the right or towards the left, as it is done in the hat in DROPS 234-12. We show 1 round where we knit the yarn over and 2 rounds where we purl the yarn over. Work the yarn over like this: AFTER MARKER: Work yarn over in back loop of stitches, stitch is twisted towards the left. It should not make a hole! BEFORE MARKER: Slip yarn over off the needle and put it back the opposite way, and then work in front loop of stitch, stitches is twisted towards the right. It should not make a hole! Work the increased stitches in rib knit 2/purl 2 - i.e. the first 2 times knit the increased stitches, the next 2 times purl them. In this DROPS video we show how to put 4 markers in a piece, how to increase to raglan at these markers while working short rows. We cut the thread and start the short rows at the 3rd mark, but when the short rows are finished, we cut the thread and start in the middle of the back again. We have already worked a double neckline and in the video, l we show how we work a round where we put 4 markers and increase to raglan on each side of these markers. On next round we work the increases stitches twisted so that there are no holes. Then we work short rows, we also increase to raglan on every row and when the short rows are finished, we only increase to raglan on every other round. We use the yarn DROPS Nepal in the video.
