Bon tricot!

------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- RAGLAN: Increase 1 stitch before/after 2 stitches as follows, in each transition between the body and sleeves, the marker-threads sit between these 2 stitches: From right side: INCREASE 1 STITCH TOWARDS RIGHT BEFORE MARKER-THREAD: Use the left needle to pick up the strand between 2 stitches from the previous round, pick up the strand from the back and knit the front loop. INCREASE 1 STITCH TOWARDS LEFT AFTER MARKER-THREAD: Use the left needle to pick up the strand between 2 stitches from the previous round, pick up the strand from the front and knit the back loop. From wrong side: INCREASE 1 STITCH TOWARDS RIGHT BEFORE MARKER-THREAD: Use the left needle to pick up the strand between 2 stitches from the previous round, pick up the strand from the front and purl the back loop. INCREASE 1 STITCH TOWARDS LEFT AFTER MARKER-THREAD: Use the left needle to pick up the strand between 2 stitches from the previous round, pick up the strand from the back and purl the front loop. STRIPES: When the piece measures 6-7-8-8-8-8 cm after the rib (measured mid-front), work stripes as follows: * 2 cm with colour denim jeans, 3½ cm with colour marzipan *, work from *-* until you have worked a total of 5-6-6-6-7-7 stripes with colour denim jeans. Then work as described in the text. SLEEVE TIP: When knitting up stitches under the sleeve, you can get a small hole in the transition between stitches on the body and sleeve. This hole can be closed by picking up the strand between 2 stitches and working this strand twisted together with the first stitch between body and sleeve. DECREASE TIP (for sleeves): Decrease 1 stitch on each side of the marker-thread as follows: Work until there are 3 stitches left before the marker-thread, knit 2 together, knit 2 (marker-thread sits between these 2 stitches), slip 1 stitch knit-wise, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch. ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- JUMPER – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: The pattern uses both long and short needles; start with the length which fits the number of stitches and change when necessary. The neck and yoke are worked in the round with circular needle, top down, with the beginning of the round in the transition between the back piece and the sleeve. When the yoke is finished, it is divided for the body and sleeves and the body is continued in the round, while the sleeves wait. The sleeves are worked top down, in the round. NECK: Cast on 104-104-112-112-120-128 stitches with circular needle size 4.5 mm and colour marzipan DROPS Soft Tweed. Knit 3 rounds (= rolled edge). Change to circular needle size 3.5mm. Work 4 rounds of rib (knit 1, purl 1). Now insert 4 marker-threads as follows, without working the stitches and each thread inserted between 2 stitches. The threads are used when increasing for raglan. Count 1 stitch, insert marker-thread-1, count 20 stitches, insert marker-thread-2 (= sleeve), count 32-32-36-36-40-44 stitches insert marker-thread-3, count 20 stitches, insert marker-thread-4 (= sleeve), there are 32-32-36-36-40-44 stitches between marker-threads 4 and 1. NECKLINE: Change to circular needle size 4.5 mm. Work a neckline with short rows as follows: ROW 1 (right side): Knit and increase for RAGLAN – read explanation above, on each side of the first 2 marker-threads (= 4 increased stitches), work 3 stitches past the second marker-thread, turn. ROW 2 (wrong side): Purl and increase for raglan on each side of all 4 marker-threads (= 8 increased stitches), work 3 stitches past the last marker-thread, turn. ROW 3 (right side): Knit and increase for raglan on each side of all 4 marker-threads (= 8 increased stitches), work to 2 stitches past previous turn, turn. ROW 4 (wrong side): Purl and increase for raglan on each side of all 4 marker-threads (= 8 increased stitches), work to 2 stitches past previous turn, turn. ROW 5 (right side): Knit and increase for raglan on each side of all 4 marker-threads (= 8 increased stitches), work to 2 stitches past previous turn, turn. ROW 6 (wrong side): Purl and increase for raglan on each side of all 4 marker-threads (= 8 increased stitches), work to 2 stitches past previous turn, turn. ROW 7 (right side): Knit and increase for raglan on each side of the first 2 marker-threads (= 4 increased stitches), work to 1 stitch before marker-thread-1 at the beginning of the round. The short rows are finished and you have increased 6 times for raglan by each marker-thread = 152-152-160-160-168-176 stitches. Now continue in the round across all stitches. YOKE: Remember to maintain the knitting tension. Read STRIPES! Continue with stocking stitch and increase for raglan every 2nd round, 7-11-12-12-10-10 more times on the body and sleeves. There are 208-240-256-256-248-256 stitches. Now, continue increasing every 2nd round but every 2nd increase is only on the front and back pieces (i.e., increase on the front and back pieces every 2nd round, on the sleeves every 4th round; alternately 4 and 8 increased stitches). Increase like this 16-16-16-20-26-30 times on the body (8-8-8-10-13-15 times on the sleeves). You have increased a total of 29-33-34-38-42-46 times on the body and 21-25-26-28-29-31 times on the sleeves (including the increases on the short rows). There are 304-336-352-376-404-436 stitches (90-98-104-112-124-136 stitches between the marker-threads on the front and back pieces and 62-70-72-76-78-82 stitches between the marker-threads on the sleeves). Continue working without further increases until the yoke measures 21-23-24-25-28-31 cm, measured mid-front from the rib on the neck, Now divide for the body and sleeves. DIVIDE FOR BODY AND SLEEVES: Work to marker-thread-1. Begin the round here. Place the first 62-70-72-76-78-82 stitches on 1 thread without working them (= sleeve), cast on 10-10-12-12-14-14 stitches (under sleeve), work 90-98-104-112-124-136 stitches (= front piece), place the next 62-70-72-76-78-82 stitches on 1 thread without working them (= sleeve), cast on 10-10-12-12-14-14 stitches (under sleeve), work 90-98-104-112-124-136 stitches (= back piece). The body and sleeves are finished separately. BODY: = 200-216-232-248-276-300 stitches. Work the first 5-5-6-6-7-7 cast-on stitches under the sleeve, the round now begins here. Continue with stocking stitch and stripes in the round. When the stripes are finished, continue with colour marzipan. Work until the piece measures 37-39-41-43-45-47 cm, mid-front from the rib. Change to circular needle size 3.5 mm. Work rib (knit 1, purl 1), AT THE SAME TIME increase 30-32-34-38-42-46 stitches evenly on the first round = 230-248-266-286-318-346 stitches. When the rib measures 4 cm, cast off. The jumper measures approx. 41-43-45-47-49-51 cm mid-front and 46-48-50-52-54-56 cm from top of shoulder. SLEEVES: Place the 62-70-72-76-78-82 sleeve-stitches from one thread on circular needle size 4.5 mm and knit up 1 stitch in each of the 10-10-12-12-14-14 stitches cast on under the sleeve – read SLEEVE TIP = 72-80-84-88-92-96 stitches. Insert a marker-thread in the middle of the 10-10-12-12-14-14 stitches under the sleeve. Start at the marker-thread and continue stocking stitch and the stripes in the round. When the sleeve measures 4 cm, decrease 2 stitches under the sleeve – read DECREASE TIP. Decrease like this every 4-3-2½-2½-2-1½ cm a total of 4 times = 64-72-76-80-84-88 stitches. Continue working until the sleeve measures 18-16-15-15-12-9 cm from the division, making sure you have at least 3½ cm with colour marzipan. Change to double pointed needles size 3.5 mm. Work 4 rounds of rib (knit 1, purl 1). Knit 3 rounds. Cast off. The sleeve measures approx. 20-18-17-17-14-11 cm. |
