Bon crochet!

Can I replace Karisma and Kid Silk with one strand yarn from DROPS and if so, which one do you recommend? Love this pattern, thank you!

CROCHET INFO: Replace first dc at beg of row with ch 3, finish the row with 1 dc in 3rd ch from beg of previous row. INCREASE TIP: Inc 1 dc by working 2 dc in same dc. DECREASE TIP: Work 1 dc but wait with last pull through (= 2 sts on hook), then work next dc but on last pull through, pull thread through all sts on hook = 1 st dec. ---------------------------------------------------------- NECK WARMER: Worked back and forth from mid front, top down. Ch 74-76-80 LOOSELY on hook size 5 mm / H/8 with 1 strand Karisma and 1 strand Kid-Silk (= 2 strands). Work first row as follows: 1 dc in 4th ch from hook, then work 1 dc in every ch the entire row = 72-74-78 dc, turn piece. Insert 1 marker after 36-37-39 dc (= mid back) – move the marker upwards when working. Work next row as follows: ch 3 (= 1 dc), 2 dc in next dc, work 1 dc in every dc until marker, 2 dc in dc after marker, work 1 dc in every dc until 2 dc remain on row, work 2 dc in next dc and 1 dc in 3rd ch from beg of previous row (= 3 sts inc), turn piece. Continue like this until piece measures approx. 8 cm / 3⅛" in crochet direction and there are 90-92-96 dc on row (= a total of 6 rows with inc). Continue to work as follows: ROW 1: ch 3 (= 1 dc), work the next 2 dc tog, * 1 dc in next dc, work the next 2 dc tog – READ DECREASE TIP *, repeat from *-* a total of 29-29-31 times and finish with 1 dc in each of the last 0-2-0 dc on row = 60-62-64 dc. ROW 2: ch 3 (= 1 dc), 2 dc in next dc, work 1 dc in every dc until marker, 2 dc in dc after marker, work 1 dc in every dc until 2 dc remain on row, work 2 dc in next dc and 1 dc in 3rd ch from beg of previous row = 63-65-67 dc. ROW 3: ch 3 (= 1 dc), 2 dc in each of the next 2 dc, * 1 dc in each of the next 2 dc, 2 dc in next dc *, repeat from *-* a total 19-19-20 times and finish with 1 dc in each of the next 1-2-1 dc, 2 dc in each of the next 1-2-2 dc and 1 dc in 3rd ch from beg of previous row = 85-88-91 dc. ROW 4: ch 3 (= 1 dc), 2 dc in next dc, 1 dc in each of the next 2-3-2 dc, * 2 dc in next dc, 1 dc in each of the next 5 dc *, repeat from *-* a total of 13-13-14 times and finish with 2 dc in each of the next 0-1-2 dc, 1 dc in each of the next 1-2-0 dc, 2 dc in each of the next 1-1-0 dc and 1 dc in 3rd ch from beg of previous row = 100-104-108 dc. Then continue back and forth as before with 1 dc in every dc while AT THE SAME TIME inc 1 dc at beg and end of row and 1 dc after marker in the middle of every row (= 3 sts inc per row). When piece measures approx. 30-32-34 cm / 11¾"-12½"-13½" in crochet direction and there are approx. 139-146-156 dc on row, cut the thread and work a lace edge around the entire neck warmer as follows: LACE EDGE: Beg after marker mid back and work as follows: 1 sc in first dc, * skip 2 dc or approx. 1 cm / ½", in next dc/st work 3 dc + ch 3 + 3 dc, skip 2 dc or approx. 1 cm / ½", 1 sc in next dc/st *, repeat from *-* around the entire neck warmer but finish last repetition with 1 sl st in sc from beg of round (instead of 1 sc in next st). Fasten off. Sew on buttons on the right side at the front and use the holes in the lace edge as buttonholes. |
