Hola Lourdes! No hace falta menguar.

Bon tricot!

I think I've got it figured out. When you increase so frequently in the middle of the row, the knitting will develop an 'arrow head'. The increase stitches in the centre will be the dotted line shown in the diagram, and you'll have the 72 (or whatever) stitches on either side. Like 'feather and fan' knitting or other stitches that distort the piece you're working on. It won't be until you cast off that you'll see the square magically appear. Hope that helps.

It seems that the instructions form a triangle, not sure how a square is formed when you are casting off 145 stitches. Is there some instructions that are missed, the part where you start to cast off so that you end up with just a couple of stitches? Or do you make two triangles and then join them in the middle?
24.12.2013 - 02:12DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Spelt, the shawl starts with the square in the middle (dotted line = inc), you then pick up sts on one side to work the "tip" with dec and then pick up sts on the other side and work dec to get the 2nd tip. Happy knitting!

Bon tricot!

Love this design, but am confused by the directions. Sounds like a triangle if you start with 1 st and cast of 145

How does this become a square when you cast on 1 st and bind off 145 sts? (Domino square)
11.01.2013 - 00:52DROPS Design answered:
Dear Lila, you cast on 1 st, work this st 3 times to get 3 sts, then inc 2 sts every RS row until you get a total of 145 sts and you get this shape of a domino. Happy knitting !
