------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- PATTERN: See diagrams A.1 and A.2. INCREASE TIP: INCREASE 1 STITCH TOWARDS LEFT: Use the left needle to pick up the strand between 2 stitches from the row below, pick up the strand from the front and knit through the stitch-loop that lies on the back of the needle. INCREASE 1 STITCH TOWARDS THE RIGHT: Use the left needle to pick up the strand between 2 stitches from the row below, pick up the strand from the back and knit through the stitch-loop that lies on the front of the needle. ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- SWEATER – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: The pattern uses both long and short needles; start with the length which fits the number of stitches and change when necessary. The neck and yoke are worked in the round with circular needle, top down and from the right back shoulder, increasing for raglan. When the yoke is finished, it is divided for the body and sleeves and the body continued in the round, while the sleeves wait. The sleeves are worked top down, in the round. If there is a «0» in your chosen size, skip the information and go straight to the next instruction. NECK: Cast on102-102-102-102-114-114-114 stitches with circular needle size 2.5 MM = US 1.5 and 2 strands DROPS Kid-Silk. Work rib in the round (purl 1, knit 2) for 4 cm = 1½". On the last round increase all purl-1 to purl-2 (by making 1 yarn over before each purled stitch) = 136-136-136-136-152-152-152 stitches. On the next round purl the yarn overs twisted. The round begins on the right back shoulder. Insert 1 marker after the first 46-46-46-46-50-50-50 stitches (approx. mid-front), the piece is now measured from here. YOKE: Insert 4 markers, without working the stitches and inserting each marker in the middle of 6 stitches (the raglan-stitches) and you increase for raglan on each side of these raglan-stitches. The raglan-stitches are worked as follows: Knit 2, purl 2, knit 2. Insert a marker between the first 2 purled stitches on the round, count 3 stitches, count 18 stitches (= sleeve), count 6 stitches (= raglan-stitches), insert a marker in the middle of these 6 stitches, count 38-38-38-38-46-46-46 stitches (= front piece), count 6 stitches (= raglan-stitches), insert a marker in the middle of these 6 stitches, count 18 stitches (= sleeve), count 6 stitches (= raglan-stitches), insert a marker in the middle of these 6 stitches, count 38-38-38-38-46-46-46 stitches (= back piece), count 3 stitches (the first marker is in the middle of the first 3 stitches and the last 3 stitches on round = raglan-stitches). Change to circular needle size 4 MM = US 6 and work the next round as follows – read INCREASE TIP: Purl 1, knit 2, increase 1 stitch towards the left, work rib (purl 2, knit 2) across the next 16 stitches, purl 2, increase 1 stitch towards the right, knit 2, purl 2, knit 2 (these 6 stitches = raglan-stitches), increase 1 stitch towards the left, purl 0-0-0-0-2-2-2, knit 0-0-0-0-2-2-2, purl 1, work A.1, purl 1, knit 2, purl 1, work A.2, purl 1, knit 0-0-0-0-2-2-2, purl 0-0-0-0-2-2-2, increase 1 stitch towards the right, knit 2, purl 2, knit 2 (these 6 stitches = raglan-stitches), increase 1 stitch towards the left, work rib (purl 2, knit 2) across the next 16 stitches, purl 2, increase 1 stitch towards the right, knit 2, purl 2, knit 2 (these 6 stitches = raglan-stitches), increase 1 stitch towards the left, purl 0-0-0-0-2-2-2, knit 0-0-0-0-2-2-2, purl 1, work A.1, purl 1, knit 2, purl 1, work A.2, purl 1, knit 0-0-0-0-2-2-2, purl 0-0-0-0-2-2-2, increase 1 stitch towards the right, knit 2, purl 1 (these 3 stitches + first 3 stitches on round = raglan-stitches).
