Gauge: 1 square with 4 love knots = approx. 6 x 6 cm Pattern: See chart. Shawl: Begin at the lower edge – see Fig.1 (long chain = A and knot = B in Fig.1) 1st row: Ch 1 (= C in Fig.1) * pull ch long on hook, approx. 4.5 to 5 cm [1.75" to 2"], yo, pull yo through long ch, put the hook through long ch again, (see Fig.2 - long chain = D in Fig.2), yo, pull yo through long ch (= 2 loops on hook), yo, pull yo through the 2 loops on hook * (* - * = 1 love knot). Repeat * - * 3 more times (= 4 knots) and join into a square with 1 sc in the first ch. 2nd row: Turn the work, crochet 3 knots, 1 sc in the 3rd knot from 1st row (see Fig.1 – the knots are B), crochet 3 knots and 1 sc in the 2nd knot from 1st row (= 2 squares on row). 3rd row: Turn the work, crochet 1 knot and fasten with 1 sc in the 2nd knot from previous row (in the last square crocheted), turn the work so you can continue on this row. Crochet 3 knots, 1 sc in the top of the last square from previous row, 2 knots, 1 sc in the top of the next square, 3 knots, 1 sc in 1st knot on first square from previous row (= 3 squares on row). 4th row: Turn the work, crochet 1 knot and fasten with 1 sc in the 2nd knot on last square from previous row , turn the work so you can continue on this row. Crochet 3 knots, 1 sc in the top of the last square from previous row, 2 knots, 1 sc in the top of the next square, 2 knots, 1 sc in the top of the next square, 3 knots, 1 sc in 1st knot on first square from previous row (= 4 squares on row). Continue in this manner, turn every row following instructions for 3rd row, so that there will be one square more each row. Crochet 3 knots at each side and 2 knots on the rest of row (every square has a total of 4 knots). When you have crocheted 26 rows (or to desired size) cut yarn and fasten. BROOCH: Materials: Garnstudio SNOW, 100% wool, 50 g./50 m./54 yds small amount of nr 30, light pink DROPS 6 mm [US J] crochet hook, or size needed to obtain correct gauge. Accessories: a small safety pin Blossom: Ch 4 and join into a ring with 1 sl st. 1st row: 1 sc in ring, * ch 3, 1 sc in ring *, repeat from * - * a total of 2 times and finish with ch 3 and 1 sl st in first sc at start of row = 3 ch-loops. 2nd row: ch 1, crochet as follows in each ch-loop: sl 1, 5 dc, sl 1. Turn the work, crochet the next row from other side (back). 3rd row: ch 1, 1 sc around each sc from previous row, * ch 3, 1 sc in the lower edge of the 3 dc from 2nd row (in the center of the petal’s lower edge), ch 3, 1 sc around the next sc from 1st row *, repeat * - * until there are 5 ch-loops, finish with ch 3 and 1 sl st in first ch at start of row = 6 ch-loops. Turn the work, crochet the next row from the other side (front). 4th row: ch 1, crochet as follows in each ch-loop: sl 1, 3 dc, sl 1. Cut yarn and fasten. Sew a safety pin on back side of blossom. |
