Buon lavoro!

------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- CROCHET INFORMATION: At the beginning of each round of single crochets, work 1 chain stitch which does not replace the first single crochet. The round finishes with 1 slip stitch in the first single crochet at the beginning of the round (skip the chain stitch). CROCHET TIP: The first round is worked from the right side and finished with 1 slip stitch in the first single crochet at the beginning of the round. Turn. The next round is worked from the wrong side and finished with 1 slip stitch in the first single crochet at the beginning of the round. Turn. Continue working like this, alternately from the right and wrong side. INCREASE TIP: Increase 1 single crochet by working 2 single crochets in the same stitch. ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- HAT - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: The piece is worked top down in the round but turning after each round, working alternately from the right and wrong side. HAT: Work 4 chain stitches with hook size 6 MM = US J/10 and 1 strand DROPS Melody and 1 strand DROPS Lima (2 strands). Form them into a ring with 1 slip stitch in the first chain stitch = chain-stitch ring. Read CROCHET INFORMATION and CROCHET TIP in the explanations above. ROUND 1: 1 chain stitch - remember CROCHET INFORMATION, work 6 single crochets around the chain-stitch ring. ROUND 2: 1 chain stitch, work 2 single crochets in each single crochet = 12 single crochets. ROUND 3: 1 chain stitch, work * 2 single crochets in the first/next single crochet, 1 single crochet in the next single crochet *, work from *-* to end of round = 18 single crochets. ROUND 4.: 1 chain stitch, work * 2 single crochets in the first/next single crochet, 1 single crochet in each of the next 2 single crochets *, work from *-* to end of round = 24 single crochets. ROUND 5: 1 chain stitch, work * 2 single crochets in the first/next single crochet, 1 single crochet in each of the next 3 single crochets *, work from *-* to end of round = 30 single crochets. REMEMBER THE CROCHET GAUGE! Continue like this, increasing 6 stitches on each round (1 more stitch between each increase on each round). When you have worked 9-9-10-10 rounds, there are 54-54-60-60 single crochets. On the next round increase 0-4-2-4 single crochets evenly spaced – read INCREASE TIP = 54-58-62-64 single crochets. Then work 1 single crochet in each single crochet (alternately from the right and wrong side) until the hat measures 17-18-19-20 cm = 6¾"-7"-7½"-8". BRIM: ROUND 1: 1 chain stitch, work 1 single crochet in each stitch and increase 10-6-10-8 single crochets evenly spaced = 64-64-72-72 single crochets. ROUND 2: 1 chain stitch, work * 2 single crochets in the first/next single crochet, 1 single crochet in each of the next 7-7-8-8 single crochets*, work from *-* to end of round = 72-72-80-80 single crochets. ROUND 3: 1 chain stitch, work 1 single crochet in each single crochet. ROUND 4: 1 chain stitch, work * 2 single crochets in the first/next single crochet, 1 single crochet in each of the next 8-8-9-9 single crochets *, work from *-* to end of round = 80-80-88-88 single crochets. ROUND 5: 1 chain stitch, work * 2 single crochets in the first/next single crochet, 1 single crochet in each of the next 9-9-10-10 single crochets *, work from *-* to end of round = 88-88-96-96 single crochets. ROUND 6 AND ONWARDS: Work 1 single crochet in each single crochet until the hat measures 25-26-27-27 cm = 9¾"-10¼"-10⅝"-10⅝". Cut and fasten the strands. EDGE: Use hook size 6 MM = US J/10, 1 strand DROPS Melody and 2 strands DROPS Lima (3 strands). Work 1 lobster stitch in each single crochet, i.e., work reversed single crochets (working from left to right). Cut and fasten the strands. The hat measures approx. 25-26-27-27 cm = 9¾"-10¼"-10⅝"-10⅝". |
