I am at the point where I have knitted the 90 stitches but the body of the poncho is only half the length it should be. I knitted six decreases on each end of the purl sections on every other row. Where is my mistake? I hope I can finish this beautiful outfit but the instructions are not easy to follow. Thank you.
17.05.2019 - 05:49DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mel, in the 3rd size you should have decrease every other round a total of 25 times (= you should have then worked 50 rounds from and including the 2nd round in first M.1/M.2). Is your tension right? You should have 32 rows = 10 cm. Happy knitting!

Towards the end of the pattern I am confused how to decrease 3 sts on all M.1 and M.2 repeats
23.04.2019 - 17:23DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Lockerd, just K2 tog a total of 3 times over the cable in M.1 and M.2, this way you will allow the piece to get the right width (cables require more stitches in width and in order to keep the correct width you will now have to decrease stitches over the cables). Happy knitting!

I am confused on the pattern line.... Repeat the dec on every 2-2-2 (3-3) round on the right and left side of each P-section alternately a total of 22-23-25 (20-21) times = 84-90-90 (112-120) sts. Am I dec twice in each repeat every OTHER round? If so that reduces 4 sts per section. By row 15, also counting non dec rounds, I am down to 72 sts and it says 22 times equals 84 sts. Please help
05.02.2019 - 14:55DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Verley, you decrease 1 stitch in each P-section, on first dec round dec on the right side of P-section, on next dec round dec on the left side of P-section (= alternately on the right and on the left side of P-section). You dec every other round = work 1 round decreasing 1 st in each P-section, work 1 round without decreases and repeat these 2 rows a total of 20-25 times depending on the size. Happy knitting!

Bon tricot!

Continue until piece measures approx 8-9-9.5 (11.5-12.5) cm from marker on heel (approx 2-2-2.5 (2.5-3.5) cm remain). Now insert a marker each side with 13-13-15 (15-17) sts on upper foot and 13-13-15 (15-17) sts under foot. Continue in stocking st, AT THE SAME TIME dec 1 st on each side of both markers – SEE DECREASING TIP - on every other round 2-2-3 (3-5) times and then on every round 3-3-3 (3-2) times = 6 sts left. Cut the thread, pull through remaining sts and fasten. Sock measures approx 10-11-12 (14-16) cm. |
