How to crochet squares together with chain stitches and double crochet

In this DROPS video we show how you can crochet squares together with chain stitches and double crochet. Lay 2 squares together, wrong side to wrong side, and work through both layers like this: 1 double crochet around the chain stitches in the corner, * 4 chain stitches, skip 3 treble crochets (= treble crochet groups) and crochet 1 double crochet between 2 treble crochets groups, *, work from *-* up to and including the next corner, work 1 chain stitch (transition to the next 2 squares), work 1 double crochet around the corner on the next square. Work from *-* until the row has been worked together. Cut the strand, then work the squares together in width in the same way. We use the yarn DROPS Paris in the video. In this DROPS video we show how to crochet the squares together on the Sea of Stars shawl in DROPS 117-35. We have already crocheted one row with 4 squares and start the video by crocheting a new square. This square will be crocheted together with the other 4 squares (= a row of 5 squares). About halfway through the video we show how we crochet 2 squares under the row of 5 squares together (we have already crocheted ROUND 1 on this squares). How to close the seam under raglan sleeve (Kitchener sts, grafting, weaving)

In this DROPS video we show two ways of sewing together the hole under sleeves on a jumper/jacket with raglan. First, we show how to sew together so we get an invisible seam. Remember not to tighten the thread and sew from RS. Stitches should be same size as the knitted stitches. At thicker yarn it avoids that it becomes a thick seam on the back. Then we show how to sew together by sewing together the seam in the inner loops of edge sts. You get a thicker stitching on the outside, but it will not show up when it comes under arm. How to crochet a flounce edge to a garment with a lace pattern

In this DROPS video we show how to crochet a flounce edge to a garment. Work from the wrong side, fasten the strand with a double crochet around a decrease in the lace pattern, insert the hook through the garment (from the wrong side to the right side - the strand stays on the wrong side), then insert the hook between the 2 outermost treble crochets on the flounce and then back through to the wrong side of the garment, make 1 yarn over and pull the strand through the loops on the hook so the flounce is attached to the yoke *, work 8 chain stitches (on the wrong side of the garment), skip to the next decrease on the garment, insert the hook through the garment (from the wrong side to the right side - the strand stays on the wrong side), then insert the hook between the 6th and 7th treble crochet after the last time the flounce was attached to the garment, and then back to the wrong side of the garment, make 1 yarn over and pull the strand through the loops on the hook so the flounce is attached to the yoke *, repeat from *-*. It is important the seam is not tight as this will make the garment less elastic. We use the yarn DROPS Snow in the video. How to sew a folded hem

In this DROPS video we show how to sew a basic folded edge. Wee purl 1 row seen from RS, and this row is where we do the fold and from where all length measures in pattern are measured. So knit a couple of cm/ an inch in stockinette st then P 1 right side row, then continue in stockinette or what patterns tells. Afterward fold the bottom edge to inside and sew with neat sts. How to sew mattress stitches

In this DROPS video we show how to sew mattress stitches. This is a common way of seaming together side-to-side pieces - like side seams on sweaters. In the video we use a contrasting color yarn so it's easy to see what we are doing. If the tail from casting on is long enough use it to seam. Mattress stitching is done in the space between the edge stitch and the stitch next to it. Lay the pieces side by side with the right side facing you. Pull the edge stitch slightly away from the stitch next to it so that you can see the bar between the edge st and the next st. Insert your yarn needle under the bar. Pull the yarn through the bar and then insert the needle under the bar on the other piece. Work back and forth, inserting the needle under the bar on one piece then the other piece. As you go along you can pull the yarn in the direction of the seam and the pieces will be joined with an invisible seam. You must read the pattern to be able to follow. How to sew invisible grafting / kitchener stitch in the cast off edge from wrong side

In this DROPS video we show how to sew an invisible seam in the cast off edge from wrong side (same technique can also be used when sewing cast on and cast off edge together). Put the pieces with the wrong side together, edge to edge. Fasten the thread by sewing the two corners together twice. Put the needle in the outermost loop of the outermost stitch on the first piece (down and up), then sew in the outermost loop of the outermost stitch on the second piece (down and up), continue sewing every other part, down and up. We use the yarn DROPS Snow in the video.

In this DROPS video we show how to sew two parts together with an invisible seam, also known as Kitchener stitch (aka grafting, aka weaving). This technique is perfect for the top of the toes on a sock, shoulders etc. Have your sts on each needle with right sides out. Working yarn attached in the back piece.
