Domino knit

This is how you knit a domino diamond. Make several for your starting row. Then pick up sts along sides of two diamonds and work another diamond. Always make sure to slip 1st st on each row, and knit the last one, then you will have a nice edge on the diamond to pick up sts in afterwards.
WS rows: knit if you are working in garter, purl if stockinette.
RS rows: knit all sts and work middle 3 sts together to 1 stitch by: slip 1, K2 tog, pass slipped st over.
Pull yarn through last st on diamond.

Bonjour Mme Lamberg, vous pouvez glisser également la 1ère m au début du rang et tricotez la dernière m du rang suivant avec la nouvelle couleur - certaines préfèrent également tricoter la 1ère maille à l'endroit, tout va dépendre du résultat que vous souhaitez, ajustez comme vous le préférez. Bonjour Mme Barget, vous pouvez commencer chaque domino du 1er rang (tour) par une pelote différente et ainsi, sans couper le fil, relever les mailles pour le domino du rang suivant avec la pelote en attente. Bon tricot!

Dear Jackie, for the blanket Dreams of Snow you cast on 55 sts and work the domino as shown in the video, ie insert a marker in the middle st and dec 3 sts in the middle of the square (K until 1 st remain before marker, sl 2 sts as to work them tog, K1, pass the slipped 2 sts over the worked st) every row from RS. Bonjour Annie, pour un domino vertical, suivez bien les indications du modèle, vous diminuez en général 2 m seulement sur le côté (côté "droit") au début ou à la fin du rang et les autres mailles comme avant. Pensez à demander de l'aide sur le forum DROPS si besoin. Bon tricot!

In this DROPS video we show you how to work a half domino square (horizontal). We already picked up stitches along the edges along one side of the dominos square and the vertical half square below. We also placed 1 marker in the middle st. We now work as follows: Row 1 (= WS): K all sts. Row 2 (= RS): K until 1 st remains before marker, slip 1 st as if to K, K 2 tog, psso, K rest of row. Repeat 1st and 2nd row, i.e. dec 2 sts in the middle of the square on every RS row, at the same time slip last st at the end of every row on 1 thread or stitch holder. Continue until 3 or 4 st remain on needle (In this video we have 4 st). Work next row (= RS) as follows: Slip 1 st as if to K, K 2 tog, psso, slip last st on row on the stitch holder in the side (if you had 4 st remaining). We now have 5 sts on the thread on each side of the middle st. Cut the yarn and pull it through the remaining middle sts. In this video we slip the stitches back on the needle to show the result of the half square, but DON'T FORGET - you need to read the pattern to get the accurate result. How to work a domino square

In this DROPS video we show how we work a domino square. Cast on 5 stitches and insert 1 marker thread in the middle stitch. Work the domino square as follows: ROW 1 (= wrong side): Knit. ROW 2 (= right side): Knit as far as the stitch with the marker thread, 1 yarn over, knit 1 (stitch with marker thread), 1 yarn over, knit to end of row. ROW 3 (= wrong side): Knit. ROW 4 (= right side): Knit as far as the stitch with the marker thread, 1 yarn over, knit 1 (stitch with marker thread), 1 yarn over, knit to end of row. Work ROWS 1-4 onwards until finish measurement. Bind off – but on the bind-off row increase as before in the corner; yarn overs are bind off as you go (this avoids the corners being tight). We use the yarn DROPS Snow in the video. You also need to read the pattern as well as watch the video. You will find patterns using this technique by clicking on the pictures below.
