Pattern: Dropped stitches and garter

In this video we show how to work the pattern with dropped stitches.
We work 2 repetitions in width with 1 edge st each side, and 1 repetition in height of chart A.1.

Row 1 (RS): K all sts
Row 2 (WS): K all sts.
Row 3 (RS): K1 (= edge st in garter st), *K3, 2 yo, K1, 3 yo, K1, 3 yo, K1, 2 yo, K2* repeat *-* 1 more time and then K 1 edge st..
Row 4 (WS): K 1 edge st, * K2, drop yo, K1, drop yo, K1, drop yo, K1, drop yo, K1 and K3 * repeat *-* 1 more time and then K 1 edge st.
Row 5 and 6: K all sts
Row 7 (RS): K 1 edge st, *K1, 3 yo, K1, 2 yo, K5, 2 yo, K1, 3 yo * repeat *-* 1 more time and then K 1 edge st..
Row 8 (WS): K 1 edge st, * drop yo, K1, drop yo,K5, drop yo, K1, drop yo, K1 * repeat *-* 1 more time and then K 1 edge st.

In this DROPS video we show how we work 3 stitches together twice, so that it forms a star pattern. We work after a chart and have already worked 3 times in the height, repeat it 3 times in the width and knit 2 garter stitches in each side. Work like this when 3 stitches should be knitted together: Knit 3 together (right side) without lifting them off the needle, make 1 yarn over, knit 3 together in same 3 stitches and drop them off the needle (= 3 stitches). In this DROPS video, we show how to work an easy butterfly pattern that repeats itself. Knit a butterfly over 7 stitches + stitches between each butterfly and 2 garter stitches in each side (garter stitches = knit on each side). We have cast on 29 stitches and worked 1 row with the main color (green) and 2 garter stitches on each side. We start the video by working like this: Right side: Work 2 garter stitches, * put the second color in front of the work / towards you, knit 7 stitches, put the second color behind the work / from you, knit 2 *, repeat * - * the entire row, turn. Wrong side: Work 2 garter stitches, * put the second color behind the work / from you, purl 7 stitches, put the second color in front of the work / towards you, purl 2 *, repeat * - * entire row, but work the last 2 stitches in garter st, turn. Repeat these two rows until you have 6 loose threads in front. Right side: Now work with the main color. Work 2 garter stitches, knit 3, * insert right needle under all 6 long threads (use thumb for help if needed), knit next stitch, do not lift stitch off left needle, but pull the stitch under the 6 long thread, put the stitch on the right needle, knit these two stitches twisted together, knit 8, repeat * - * 1 more time. Knit under all 6 long threads, knit the next stitch, do not lift the stitch off the left needle, put the stitch on the right needle, knit two stitches twisted together, knit 3, knit 2 garter stitches, turn and purl 1 row with 2 stitches in garter sts on each side. We use the yarn DROPS Snow in this video.

In this DROPS video we show how to knit a part of the texture pattern in DROPS 194-5, this technique is also used in other patterns. In the pattern you work in the round, but in this video we work only from the right to the left side and 3 rows of a chart, see the red outline. In 1st row work like this (black triangle that crosses 3 squares): = insert right needle through the middle of the 3 knit stitches 4 rounds below, make 1 yarn over and pull yarn back to right, yarn over must not be too tight, knit 3, insert right needle through same stitch, make 1 yarn over and pull yarn back to right side. In 2nd row work like this (a black line over 5 squares): = slip 1st stitch (= yarn over made on previous round) knitwise, knit 3, slip next stitch (= yarn over made on previous round) purlwise. In 3rd row work like this: 1st, 3rd and 5th black triangle over 2 squares = knit 2 stitches twisted together. 2nd, 4th and 6th black triangle over 2 squares = knit 2 together. This jumper is knitted in DROPS Air, but in the video we work with a thicker yarn; DROPS Snow.
