Braid horizontal solid colored

aka Lateral braid, aka Estonian Vikkel braid
Working a horizontal braid creates a line of horizontally-aligned knit stitches. You can do single or multicolored Vikkel braid. This video is showing a single colored braid.

Start by casting on a new stitch before the first stitch.
*Knit into the back of the 2nd stitch. Then knit into the 1st stitch. Drop both stitches off the left needle. Slip the first stitch on right needle back onto the left needle*. Repeat *-* until last st on row. K last st, and pass next to last st over.

Liebe Frau Schlenker, vielleicht wird die Reih mit dem Schnur etwas zu locker gestrickt? Versuchen Sie mal diese Reihe mit einer kleineren Nadeln zu stricken, das kann vielleicht helfen. Viel Spaß beim Stricken!

In this DROPS video we show how we work loops that will be a cable that is used in the slippers in DROPS 203-35. We have already worked 7 loops and in the video we work 4 rows that will be a loop, we cast on and bind off. Then we show how to work an open loop and finish the knitting.
