In this DROPS video, we show you how to knit up stitches along the shoulders on the back piece when working a European yoke – the neckline is finished after the stitches for the sleeves are knitted up. The 2 front pieces are worked on either side of the neckline.
We show you how to knit up 1 edge stitch + 14 stitches along the back right shoulder, then you continue with stocking stitch. When the piece measures 7 cm stitches are increased for the neckline, read INCREASE TIP-1 TOWARDS THE RIGHT below. We show 2 increases. At the end of the last row, we decrease the last stitch (the edge stitch). The right shoulder stitches are then placed on a stitch holder. The left front shoulder is knitted up and worked in the same way but in reverse (read description in your pattern).
INCREASE TIP-1:
INCREASE 1 STITCH TOWARDS THE LEFT – from right side: Use the left needle to pick up the front strand between 2 stitches from the previous
row, knit through the back loop.
INCREASE 1 STITCH TOWARDS THE RIGHT – from right side: Use the left needle to pick up the back strand between 2 stitches from the previous row, knit through the front loop.
Yarn used: DROPS Andes.
