In this DROPS video we show to increase and at the same time bind off to a picot. We have already worked a rib ((knit 1 twisted/purl 1) and start the video with binding off like this: Knit 1 twisted, * insert right needle between the first 2 stitches on left needle, make 1 yarn over on right needle, pull yarn over forward between the stitches and slip yarn over on to left needle *, work from *-* 2 times in total, knit and bind off at the same time off 5 stitches (= 1st stitch on right needle + 2 yarn overs+ 2 stitches). Continue to work from *-* and bind off 5 stitches the same way along the entire bind-off edge until there are no stitches left to make a new picot. Bind off the remaining stitches. We use the yarn DROPS Snow in the video. You must read a pattern with this bind off technique to be able to follow this video properly. You’ll find a pattern by clicking on the pictures below.

In the video we work like this: K 1, (* insert right needle in between the first 2 sts on left needle (i.e. between sts on needle, not through sts), make 1 YO on right needle, pull YO forwards between sts and slip YO on left needle *, repeat from *-* 2 more times (= 3 new sts on left needle). ** K first st on left needle, pass first st on right needle over last st worked **), repeat from **-** 5 times in total and repeat from (-) along the entire row until 1 st remains. In this DROPS video we how to make 3 strands out of 1 single strand from a ball of yarn. 1. Make a simple loop (like the loop worked when you begin any crochet project) and pull it to approx. 2-3 cm = ¾"-1⅛" in length. 2. Thread the strand from the skein through this loop, creating a new loop of approx. 40-50 cm = 15¾"-19¾". 3. Lay this loop alongside the working strand, so 1 strand becomes 3 strands. 4. Knit or crochet using these 3 strands until there is approx. 2 cm = ¾" left. Repeat points 2 to 4.

In this DROPS video we show you how to join 2 pieces together (A and B), then binding off with an I-cord. Place all the stitches from A and B on the same needle, so that every second stitch on the needle belongs to A and B. We bind off with I-cord as follows: - Cast on 3 stitches onto the right needle. Slip the 3 stitches from the right needle onto the left needle with the working strand now situated 3 stitches in on the left needle. - ROW 1 (= right side): Knit 2, knit 3 twisted together (i.e., 1 stitch from the front piece and 1 stitch from the back piece is decreased). Slip 3 stitches from the right needle back onto the left needle. Do not turn (working like this tightens the working strand so the piece forms a small tube). - Repeat ROW 1 until there are 3 stitches left. Bind off and fasten all strands.
