How to bind off with 3 needles

In this DROPS video we show you how to bind off 2 pieces at the same time with using 3 needles. Put the 2 pieces right side against right side. Hold the needles parallel and put a third needle into the first stitch on each of the two parallel needles. Knit the first two stitches on the left side as usually = 2 stitches on the right needle. Take the 1st stitch on right needle over the 2nd stitch on the right needle. Then knit the next stitches on the parallel stitches together and continue as you normally would when binding off until one stitch remains on the right needle. We use the yarn DROPS Snow in the video and we use a green thread so you better can see the “bind off stitches” after.

Buongiorno Patrizia, può adattare la tecnica alla maglia legaccio facendo attenzione di arrivare allo stesso ferro sulle parti separare, prima del ferro di chiusura. Buon lavoro!

Bonjour Mme Côté, terminez chaque pièce par un rang sur l'envers et placez bien vos 2 pièces endroit contre endroit, et rabattez comme dans la vidéo. Bon tricot!

In this DROPS video we show how to do an Italian bind off to a rib with knit 1 / purl 1 by sewing the bind off edge with needle and thread. With this technique we get an elastic bind off that is perfect for example on toe up socks, edge around neck, a shawl edge or sleeve edges when working top down. Cut yarn long enough for your bind off, approx 3-4 times the length of the edge you are binding off. Part 1: Start from the right side (the first stitch should be a knit stitch). Insert the needle into the 1st stitch as if to knit, lift the stitch off the needle, insert the needle into the 2nd stitch on the left needle (= knit stitch) as if to purl. Pull the thread through these 2 stitches (= 1 stitch bind off). Part 2: Insert the needle into the 1st stitch (purl stitch) as if to purl and lift the stitch off the needle, then insert the needle from the back side between the 1st and 2nd stitches and insert the needle through the 2nd stitch (purl stitch) as if to knit, pull the thread completely through the 2 stitches. In this DROPS video we show how to do an Italian bind off in a piece work with Knit 2 Purl 2. Before starting the bind off, work 1 round where 2 knit - 2 purl becomes 1 knit - 1 purl. Cut yarn long enough for your bind off, approx 4 times the length of the edge you are binding off. 1) Insert the needle into the 1st stitch (knit stitch) as if to knit and slip the stitch of needle. 2) Insert needle into 2nd stitch (knit stitch) as if to purl. 3) Insert needle into 1st stitch (purl stitch) as if to purl, lift the stitch off (the thread is now at the back of the work). From the back, insert the needle between 1st and 2nd stitches. 4) From the front, insert the needle into the purl stitch (2nd stitch). Repeat from the beginning. In this DROPS video we show how we bind off with an i-cord edge in a piece worked in garter stitches / ridge stitches. Cast on 2 stitches, knit up 1 stitch in the outermost loop of the bottom ridge = 3 stitches on the needle. *Push the stitches back to the beginning of the needle and work again from the right side without turning. Knit 2, slip the next stitch as if to knit, knit up a new stitch in the next ridge on the hood, pass the slipped stitch over the knitted-up stitch *, work from *-* until an edge has been worked. Knit up 1 stitch in each ridge, if this makes the edge tight, knit up 1 more stitch evenly (we have knitted 2 extra stitches in this piece). Knit together the last 3 stitches on the row.
