SHAWL:
Worked back and forth on circular needle to make room for all the stitches.

Cast on 3 stitches on circular needle SIZE 5.5 mm/US 9 with Delight.
ROW 1: Knit 1, 1 yarn over, knit 1, 1 yarn over and knit 1.
ROW 2: Knit all stitches.
ROW 3: Knit 2 together (loosely), knit until 1 stitch remains, 1 yarn over and knit 1.
ROW 4: Knit all stitches.
ROW 5: Knit until 2 stitches remain, 1 yarn over, knit 1, 1 yarn over and knit 1.
Then repeat ROWS 2 to 5. REMEMBER THE GAUGE! Work like this until there are approx. 200 stitches on needle or to desired measurements. Make sure to leave enough yarn for bind-off, and adjust after 2nd or 4th ROW. To make an elastic edge, bind off as follows: * bind off 2 stitches, make 1 yarn over and loosely bind off yarn over *, repeat from *-* the rest of row. Fasten off.

FRINGES:
Fasten fringes along the 2 short sides on shawl. Fasten 1 fringe approx. every 4 cm / 1½''. Make fringes as follows: Cut 8 strands of approx. 28 cm / 11'', fold them double and pull loop through piece on the inside of outermost stitch along the edge. Then pull yarn ends through loop.

Buon lavoro!

Isa- 04.07.2018 - 14:53:

Thanks a lot ! One more question : how much yarn is used to make the fringes ?

DROPS Design 04.07.2018 kl. 16:37:

Dear Isa, we only have the total amount of yarn for the entire shawl, including fringes sorry. Happy knitting!

Isa - 03.07.2018 - 11:34:

Is the top edge (the one that should be 180 cm long) the side where the YO are worked or the side where the K2tog are worked ?

DROPS Design 04.07.2018 kl. 09:52:

Dear Isa, the longest side will be the one where the K2 tog are worked. Happy knitting!

Amanda Dunn 07.05.2018 - 20:22:

Thanks for your reply, I am learning to embrace the holes!! The 2 pictures above show the pattern rows going In different directions, I’m following the written pattern above and my rows are going along the width but I’d rather they go along the length, how do I achieve this?? (Hope this makes sense!)

DROPS Design 08.05.2018 kl. 08:44:

Dear Mrs Dunn, this shawl is worked diagonnally, if you rather like a different shape, you can find some other patterns here. Happy knitting!

Amanda Dunn 03.05.2018 - 21:21:

Hi I find when I do then yarn over to increase it then leaves a gaping hole; how can I rectify this??

DROPS Design 04.05.2018 kl. 09:11:

Dear Mrs Dunn, this yarn over gives elasticity to the edge, should you knit it twisted you might lost some elasticity. Holes belong to the shawl. Happy knitting!

Au3 04.04.2018 - 17:10:

Bon tricot!
