Beautiful slippers and I was thinking of making these for my mother in law, but since you did not write out the chart instructions...I will have to find something else to make her. Some of us just can't read charts (age, eye problems, or other reasons) and depend on written instructions.

When casting 38 stitches on three needles, it doesn’t say how many on each needle...could you please help me. Thank you for the pretty pattern, knitting for my granddaughters for Christmas.
06.10.2020 - 20:49DROPS Design answered:
Hi Carol, You divide the stitches evenly between the needles, so if you use 4 needles for the stitches and the 5th needle to work with, you get 9 stitches on 2 needles and 10 stitches on the other 2. Happy knitting!

Bon tricot!

I just finished making the 38/39 size. When I finished the A.1 pattern my piece ALREADY measured 8 1/2 cm. But your pattern says to continue in stocking stitch until piece measures 8 1/2 cm. I am wondering if the pattern could be incorrect. Could you please advise? Thanks
07.02.2018 - 23:31DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Jennylunt, make sure your tension is correct and to measure along middle part only (= top of foot with A.1). If A.1 is finished when you reach 8.5 cm, continue as explained in pattern. Happy knitting!

RIDGE/GARTER STITCH (worked in the round): 1 ridge = 2 rounds. Knit 1 round and purl 1 round. RIDGE/GARTER STITCH (worked back and forth): 1 ridge = Knit 2 rows. PATTERN: See diagram A.1. The diagram shows all the rows in the pattern seen from the right side. ---------------------------------------------------------- SLIPPERS: ANKLE: Cast on 38-38-40 stitches with double pointed needles size 6 mm / US 10 and Andes. Work GARTER STITCH in the round – see description above, until the piece measures approx. 4 cm / 1½", finish after 1 round purl. REMEMBER THE GAUGE! FOOT: Now keep the first 11-11-11 stitches from the round on the needle, the other 27-27-29 stitches are placed on a thread. Work 2-2-4 rows stockinette stitch back and forth over the 11-11-11 stitches, AT THE SAME TIME on the first row cast on 1 new stitch in each side (edge stitches) = 13-13-13 stitches. Then work pattern as follows: 1 edge stitch in GARTER STITCH – see description above, A.1 (= 11 stitches), finish with 1 edge stitch in garter stitch. When A.1 is finished continue with stockinette stitch. When the top piece measures 7-8½-10 cm / 4" bind off 1 edge stitch in each side = 11-11-11 stitches. Continue by placing the stitches from the thread back on the needle and knitting up 11-14-16 stitches on each side of the top piece (inside the 1 edge stitch) = 60-66-72 stitches on the needle. THE PIECE IS NOW MEASURED FROM HERE. Insert 1 marker thread mid front on the toe and 1 marker thread mid back on the heel. Continue in the round with garter stitch. When the piece measures 2 cm / ¾" knit 2 stitches together on each side of each marker thread every 2nd round (= 4 stitches less per round) continue the decreases until the piece measures 5-5-6 cm / 2"-2"-2½" – bind off. Sew the seam under the foot in the outermost stitch so that there is not a thick seam. Work another slipper in the same way. |
