HEEL DECREASES:
Row 1 (= RS): Work stockinette st until 7-7-8 sts remain, slip next st as if to K, K1, psso, turn piece.
Row 2 (= WS): Work stockinette st until 7-7-8 sts remain, slip 1 st as if to P, P1, psso, turn piece.

Row 4 (= WS): ): Work stockinette st until 6-6-7 sts remain, slip 1 st as if to P, P1, psso,
Continue dec like this with 1 less st between each dec until 14-16-16 sts remain on needle.
--------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------
SOCK:
Worked in the round on double pointed needles.
Cast on 72 sts for all sizes on double pointed needles size 2.5 mm / US 1 with Alpaca. K 1 round, P 1 round, AT THE SAME TIME on round 2 dec 4 sts evenly = 68 sts. Work M.1 on all sts (= 4 repeats). When piece measures 10-11-12 cm / 4"-4 3/8"-4 3/4" keep the first 25 sts on needle for heel, slip the next 35 sts on a stitch holder (= mid upper foot) and keep the last 8 sts on needle for heel = 33 heel sts. Work stockinette st back and forth on heel sts, AT THE SAME TIME on first row dec 7-5-3 sts evenly = 26-28-30 sts. When heel measures 5-5.5-6 cm / 2''-2¼''-2 3/8'' insert a marker in heel – now measure piece from here! Now work HEEL DECREASES – see above! After heel dec pick up 13-14-16 sts each side of heel and slip the 35 sts from stitch holder back on needle = 75-79-83 sts. Continue in pattern on upper foot as before (= 1 full repeat in the middle with 1 half repeat each side – beg and finish with K1) and stockinette st on remaining sts, AT THE SAME TIME dec each side as follows: K2 into back of loop before the 35 middle sts on upper foot and K2 tog after the middle 35 sts on upper foot. Repeat the dec on every other round a total of 10 times = 55-59-63 sts. Continue until piece measures 17-19-21 cm / 6 3/4"-7½"-8 1/4" from marker on heel (= 5-5-6 cm / 2"-2"-2 3/8" remain). Insert a marker each side with 27-29-31 sts on upper foot and 28-30-32 sts under foot. Continue in stockinette st on all sts, AT THE SAME TIME dec for toes each side of both markers as follows: Before marker: K2 tog. After marker: K2 tog into back of loop. Repeat the dec each side on every other round a total of 7-6-7 times and then on every round 4-6-6 times = 11 sts left on needle. Cut the thread, pull it through remaining sts, tighten and fasten.

Helen Larsson 25.01.2010 - 13:50:
