Bonjour.
Bon tricot!

Yoke - placing markers not clear on where to place them?
04.02.2026 - 18:59DROPS Design answered:
Hi Julia, You insert the markers between stitches (not in a stitch). The first marker is at the beginning of the round, before the first stitch, then marker-2 is after 12 stitches (before the 13th stitch), then count the number of stitches for your size and insert marker-3 before the next stitch, etc.. Hope this helps. Regards, Drops Team.

------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------ RAGLAN: Increase 1 stitch by making 1 yarn over, which is worked as follows on the next round: BEFORE RAGLAN-STITCHES (yarn over twists to the right): Slip the yarn over from the left needle onto the right needle purl-wise, then replace it on the left needle by inserting the needle through the back (the yarn over is the other way round). Knit through the stitch loop that is on the front of the needle (avoids a hole). AFTER RAGLAN-STITCHES (yarn over twists to the left): Knit through the stitch loop that is on the back of the needle (avoids a hole). SLEEVE TIP: When knitting up stitches under the sleeve, you can get a small hole in the transition between stitches on the body and sleeve. This hole can be closed by picking up the strand between 2 stitches and working this strand twisted together with the first stitch between body and sleeve. DECREASE TIP: Decrease 1 stitch on each side of the marker-thread as follows: Work until there are 3 stitches left before the marker-thread, knit 2 together, knit 2 (marker-thread sits between these 2 stitches), slip 1 stitch knit-wise, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch (2 stitches decreased). ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- JUMPER – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: The pattern uses both long and short needles; start with the length which fits the number of stitches and change when necessary. The neck and yoke are worked in the round with circular needle, top down and from the right back shoulder. When the yoke is finished, it is divided for the body and sleeves and the body continued in the round, while the sleeves wait. The sleeves are worked top down, in the round. NECK: Cast on 64-64-72-72-72-80-80 stitches with circular needle size 3.5 mm and DROPS Air. Work rib in the round (knit 2, purl 2) for 4-4-4-4-5-5-5 cm. The round begins on the right back shoulder. Knit 1 stitch so the round begins between 2 knitted stitches. Insert 1 marker after the first 22-22-24-24-24-26-26 stitches (approx. mid-front), the yoke is measured from here. YOKE: Continue with circular needle size 4.5 mm. Insert 4 markers, without working the stitches and inserting each marker between 2 knitted stitches (raglan-stitches). You increase for raglan on each side of the raglan-stitches. Insert marker-1 before the first stitch, count 12 stitches (= sleeve), Insert marker-2 before the next stitch, count 20-20-24-24-24-28-28 stitches (= front piece), Insert marker-3 before the next stitch, count 12 stitches (= sleeve), Insert marker-4 before the next stitch, there are 20-20-24-24-24-28-28 stitches left after the last marker (= back piece). Work stocking stitch in the round and increase for RAGLAN on each side of the raglan-stitches - read explanation above describing how to increase. Increase for raglan every 2nd round on each side of all sets of raglan-stitches 12-13-14-15-15-16-17 times = 160-168-184-192-192-208-216 stitches (8 increased stitches on each increase-round). Remember to maintain the knitting tension. The increases on the sleeves are finished. Continue increasing on the front and back pieces every 2nd round 4-4-3-4-5-4-5 more times (4 increased stitches on each increase-round) = 176-184-196-208-212-224-236 stitches. All increases for raglan are finished: a total of 16-17-17-19-20-20-22 increases in height on the front and back pieces and 12-13-14-15-15-16-17 increases in height on the sleeves. Continue working without further increases until the piece measures 13-14-14-16-17-17-18 cm from the marker mid-front. Now divide for the body and sleeves. DIVIDE FOR BODY AND SLEEVES: Place the first 36-38-40-42-42-44-46 stitches on a stitch holder for the sleeve, cast on 6-6-6-6-8-8-8 stitches (mid-under the sleeve), knit 52-54-58-62-64-68-72 (= front piece), place the next 36-38-40-42-42-44-46 stitches on a stitch holder for the sleeve, cast on 6-6-6-6-8-8-8 stitches (mid-under the sleeve), knit the last 52-54-58-62-64-68-72 stitches (= back piece). The body and sleeves are finished separately. BODY: = 116-120-128-136-144-152-160 stitches. Continue stocking stitch in the round until the piece measures 26-29-33-37-40-42-44 cm from the marker mid-front. Change to circular needle size 3.5 mm. Work rib (knit 2, purl 2), AT THE SAME TIME increase 12-12-16-16-16-16-16 stitches evenly on the first round = 128-132-144-152-160-168-176 stitches. When the rib measures 4-4-4-4-5-5-5 cm cast off with rib. The jumper measures approx. 30-33-37-41-45-47-49 cm from the marker mid-front and 33-36-40-44-48-50-52 cm from the shoulder. SLEEVES: Place the 36-38-40-42-42-44-46 sleeve-stitches from one stitch holder onto circular needle size 4.5 mm and knit up 1 stitch in each of the 6-6-6-6-8-8-8 stitches cast on under the sleeve – read SLEEVE TIP = 42-44-46-48-50-52-54 stitches. Insert a marker-thread in the middle of the 6-6-6-6-8-8-8 stitches under the sleeve. The round starts by the marker-thread. Work stocking stitch in the round. AT THE SAME TIME, when the sleeve measures 1 cm from the division, decrease mid-under the sleeve – read DECREASE TIP, as follows: Decrease 2 stitches every 5-6-6-6½-7½-8-9 cm 4-4-5-5-5-5-5 times = 34-36-36-38-40-42-44 stitches. Continue working until the sleeve measures 18-24-27-30-33-37-41 cm from the division. Change to double pointed needles size 3.5 mm. Work rib (knit 2, purl 2), AT THE SAME TIME increase 2-4-4-2-4-2-4 stitches evenly on the first round = 36-40-40-40-44-44-48 stitches. When the rib measures 4-4-4-4-5-5-5 cm, cast off with rib. The sleeve measures approx. 22-28-31-34-38-42-46 cm from the division. |
