------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- INCREASE TIP: Increase 1 stitch by picking up the strand from the previous round and knitting it. RAGLAN: Increase for the body before markers 3 and 1 and after marker 2 and 4. Increase for the sleeves after markers 3 and 1 and before markers 2 and 4. Increase 1 stitch before/after the marker-stitch by making 1 yarn over. When working back and forth work the yarn overs as follows: BEFORE MARKER: Purl the back loop. No hole. AFTER MARKER: Slip the yarn-over off the left needle and replace it twisted (insert the left needle from the back when replacing it). Purl the front loop. No hole. When working in the round work the yarn overs as follows: BEFORE MARKER: Slip the yarn-over off the left needle and replace it twisted (insert the left needle from the back when replacing it). Knit the front loop (the stitch twists to the right). No hole. AFTER MARKER: Knit the back loop (the stitch twists to the left). No hole. PATTERN BODY: * Work A.1 around the body (3 rounds in height), then 5 cm stocking stitch *, work from *-* 1 more time in height, work A.1 again. Then work stocking stitch as far as the rib. PATTERN SLEEVE: * Work A.1 around the sleeve (3 rounds in height), then 5 cm stocking stitch *, work from *-* 2 more times (each repeat of A.1 must match the previous repeat, i.e. knit over knit/purl over purl), work A.1 again. Then work stocking stitch as far as the rib. DECREASE TIP (for sleeves): Decrease 1 stitch on either side of the marker as follows: Start 3 stitches before the marker, knit 2 together, knit 2 (marker sits between these 2 stitches), slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch. ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- JUMPER – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: The neck and yoke are worked in the round with circular needle, from mid back and top down. The yoke is divided for body and sleeves and the body is continued in the round with circular needle. The sleeves are worked in the round with short circular needle/double pointed needles. DOUBLE NECK: Cast on 60-64-64-68-68-72 stitches with DROPS Snow using short circular needles size 6 and 8 mm held together. Remove the needle size 8 mm keeping the stitches on the needle size 6 mm (this gives you an elastic cast-on edge). Work rib in the round as follows: Knit 1 * purl 2, knit 2* work from *-* until there are 3 stitches left, purl 2, knit 1. Work this rib for 9 cm. Fold the neck double to the inside and work 1 more round of rib, working every 4th stitch together with its corresponding stitch on the cast-on edge. You now have a double neck. SIZES S, M and L: Insert 4 markers without working the stitches; they are used when increasing for raglan. Count 8-9-9 stitches (half back piece), insert marker-1 in the next stitch, count 12 stitches (sleeve), insert marker-2 in the next stitch, count 16-18-18 stitches (front piece), insert marker-3 in the next stitch, count 12 stitches (sleeve), insert marker-4 in the next stitch, there are 8-9-9 stitches left after the last marker (half back piece). Cut the strand. Go to NECK-LINE. SIZES XL, XXL and XXXL: Knit 1 round and increase 4-8-8 stitches evenly spaced – read INCREASE TIP = 72-76-80 stitches. Insert 4 markers without working the stitches; they are used when increasing for raglan. Count 10-11-12 stitches (half back piece), insert marker-1 in the next stitch, count 14 stitches (sleeve), insert marker-2 in the next stitch, count 20-22-24 stitches (front piece), insert marker-3 in the next stitch, count 14 stitches (sleeve), insert marker-4 in the next stitch, there are 10-11-12 stitches left after the last marker (half back piece). Cut the strand. Go to NECK-LINE. NECK-LINE: Change to circular needle size 8 mm. Work a neck-line with short rows AT THE SAME TIME as you increase to raglan as described below. Start from the right side, 2 stitches before marker-stitch-3 (front left of neck when garment is worn). Work stocking stitch and increase for RAGLAN – read description above, before and after the 4 markers until you have worked to 2 stitches past marker-stitch-2 (front right of neck – 8 stitches increased for raglan). Turn, tighten the strand and work back from the wrong side to 2 stitches past where the short rows began by marker-3. Turn, work to 2 stitches after the previous turn at marker-2 – remember to increase for raglan. Turn, tighten the strand and work back from the wrong side to 2 stitches past marker-stitch-3. Cut the strand. YOKE: = 76-80-80-88-92-96 stitches. Start mid-back and continue to increase for raglan every 2nd round until you have increased a total of 3-6-7-7-5-6 times (including the increases on the short rows) = 84-112-120-128-116-128 stitches. Now work stocking stitch and continue to increase but on every second increase-round increase only on the body (4 stitches increased), i.e. increase every second round on the body and every 4th round on the sleeves. Increase a further 12-10-10-12-16-16 times on the body (6-5-5-6-8-8 times on the sleeves). A total of 15-16-17-19-21-22 times on the body, 9-11-12-13-13-14 times on the sleeves. After the last increase there are 156-172-180-200-212-224 stitches. Continue with stocking stitch without further increases until the yoke measures 21-23-25-26-28-30 cm mid-front measured after the neck. Now divide for the body and sleeves: Work 24-26-27-30-33-35 stitches (half back piece), place the next 30-34-36-40-40-42 stitches on a thread for the sleeve, cast on 6-6-8-8-8-10 stitches (in side under sleeve), work 48-52-54-60-66-70 stitches (front piece), place the next 30-34-36-40-40-42 stitches on a thread for the sleeve, cast on 6-6-8-8-8-10 stitches (in side under sleeve), work the last 24-26-27-30-33-35 stitches (half back piece). The body and sleeves are finished separately. The piece is now measured from here! BODY: = 108-116-124-136-148-160 stitches. Knit 1 round. Then work PATTERN BODY – read description above. When the pattern is finished, work stocking stitch over all stitches until the piece measures 20 cm from the division. Knit 1 round and increase 20-24-24-28-32-32 stitches evenly spaced = 128-140-148-164-180-192 stitches. Change to circular needle size 6 mm. Work rib (knit 2, purl 2) for 6 cm. Cast off with knit over knit and purl over purl. The jumper measures approx. 52-54-56-58-60-62 cm from the shoulder down. SLEEVES: Place the 30-34-36-40-40-42 stitches from the thread on the one side of the piece on short circular needle/double pointed needles size 8 mm and knit up 1 stitch in each of the new stitches cast on under the sleeve = 36-40-44-48-48-52 stitches. Insert a marker in the middle of the new stitches under the sleeve. Start at the marker and knit 1 round. Then work PATTERN SLEEVE – read description above. When the pattern is finished continue with stocking stitch. AT THE SAME TIME, when the sleeve measures 3-3-3-2-2-2 cm decrease 2 stitches on each side of the marker – read DECREASE TIP. Decrease like this every 3-3-3-2-2-2 cm a total of 1-2-3-5-4-6 times = 34-36-38-38-40-40 stitches. Continue working until the sleeve measures 37-35-34-35-34-32 cm from the division (or to desired length. There is approx. 6 cm left). Knit 1 round and increase 14-12-14-14-16-16 stitches evenly spaced = 48-48-52-52-56-56 stitches. Change to double pointed needles size 6 mm and work rib (knit 2, purl 2) for 6 cm. Cast off with knit over knit and purl over purl. The sleeve measures approx. 43-41-40-41-40-38 cm from the division. Work the other sleeve in the same way. |
