Knitted poncho with cables and lace pattern. Size: S - XXXL Piece is worked in DROPS BabyAlpaca Silk and DROPS Kid-Silk.

INFORMATION FOR PATTERN: GARTER STITCH (back and forth): 1 ridge = knit 2 rows. MOSS STITCH: ROW 1: * Knit 1, purl 1 *, repeat from *-*. ROW 2: Knit over purl and purl over knit. Repeat 2nd row upwards. PATTERN: See diagrams A.1 and A.2. Diagrams show all rows in pattern seen from the right side. ---------------------------------------------------------- PONCHO: Worked back and forth on circular needle in 2 parts and sewn together when finished. FRONT PIECE: Cast on 110-126-144-160 stitches on circular needle size 5 mm with 1 strand BabyAlpaca Silk and 1 strand Kid-Silk. Work 1 ridge in GARTER STITCH - see explanation above. Work next row as follows from right side: 5 stitches in MOSS STITCH – see explanation above, purl 2, A.1 (= 12 stitches), purl 2, A.2 (= 22 stitches), purl 2, A.1 over the next 12 stitches, purl 2, and the work in stocking stitch until 5 stitches remain, work 5 stitches in moss stitch. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! Continue the pattern like this. When piece measures 66-70-74-78 cm from cast-on edge, work 5 rows with moss stitch. Cast off (it is important to avoid a tight cast-off edge - to avoid this cast off with 1 needle size thicker that size worked with). BACK PIECE: Cast on and work as front piece, but reversed. I.e work pattern as follows from right side: Work 5 stitches moss stitch, 46-62-80-96 stitches in stocking stitch, purl 2 stitches, A.1 over the next 12 stitches, purl 2 stitches, A.2 over the next 22 stitches, purl 2 stitches, A.1 over the next 12 stitches, purl 2 stitches and finish with 5 stitches in moss stitch. ASSEMBLY: See chart. Place pieces on top of each other with right side outwards and sew seam A and B inside cast-off edge. Then sew seam C and D in outer loops of edge stitches. There is now a 38-40-42-44 cm vent in one side and a vent along the entire other side. |
