So the instructions for the purl row have been omitted in that case. No problem, except It is unusual and so it leaves the question. Thanks .

Dear Sharon, can you please explain your question? I'm afraid I'm not understanding what you mean here, sorry and thank you in advance.

Hello. Is the collar knitted and then assembled or is it worked by picking up stitches from the main garment? Im also curious as to how to get only 7 stitches on size 12 needles be because I get 10- and they are not knitted tightly. I will use bigger needles of course , but I am just checking that the directions are correct. Should I assume the instructions for the purl rows were just omitted rather than assume they are worked in exactly the same way as the knit rows? Thanks.

Dear Sharon, this jacket is worked together with 1 yarn group E (Ull-Flamé) + 1 yarn group C (Vivaldi) and you should get a tension of 7 sts = 10 cm - remember to adjust the needle size if needed. Collar is then worked picking up sts from thread (front pieces) and around neckline. When working rib P4/K4 from RS you will have to work P over P and K over K from WS to keep the rib pattern. When working stocking stitch, purl all sts on WS rows. Happy knitting!

Bonjour, je tricote le devant, j'en suis à l'encolure, quand vous dîtes : diminuer les 2M centrales, de quelles mailles s'agit il ? Que fait on avec la bordure en point mousse ? On la tricote jusqu'en haut ? Merci d'avance !

Bon tricot!

Knitting tension: Remember needle size is only a guide! 7 stitches x 10 rows with needle size 12 mm and stocking stitch = 10 x 10 cm. Ridge/garter stitch (back and forth on needle): 1 ridge = Knit 2 rows. Buttonholes: Crochet around the buttons before working buttonholes (so you get the right size). See description below for button. 1 buttonhole = cast off the 4th stitch in band from mid front and cast on 1 new stitch above on next row. Buttons: Crochet around button with Ull-Flamé as follows: Begin with a thin part of the yarn, work 3 chain stitches, and form then into a ring with 1 slip stitch. Then work as follows: Round 1: 1 chain stitch, 6 double crochets around ring, 1 slip stitch in first stitch, 1 chain stitch. Round 2: 2 double crochets in each double crochet (= 12 double crochets), 1 slip stitch in first stitch, 1 chain stitch. Rounds 3+ 4: As round 2 but work 1 stitch in each stitch. Insert the button and tack the strand along the edge, pull tight and fasten well. ------------------------------------------------------ Back piece: Cast on 38-42-46-50-54 stitches (incl. 1 edge stitch in each side) with needle size 12 mm and 1 strand Ull-Flamé + 1 strand Vivaldi. Work rib as follows: Sizes S + XXL: 1 edge stitch, * P4, K4 *, repeat from *-*, finish with P4 and 1 edge stitch. Sizes M + XL: 1 edge stitch, P2, * K4, P4 *, repeat from *-*, finish with P2 and 1 edge stitch. Size L: 1 edge stitch, * K4, P4 *, repeat from *-*, finish with K4 and 1 edge stitch. When piece measures 27-28-28-29-29 cm, continue with stocking stitch. Remember the knitting tension! When piece measures 32 cm, decrease in each side every 15-15-15-15-8 cm 1 stitch a total of 2-2-2-2-3 times = 34-38-42-46-48 stitches. When piece measures 54-55-56-57-58 cm decrease for armholes in each side every 2nd row: 3 stitches 1 time, 2 stitches 0-0-1-1-1 time and 1 stitch 1-2-2-3-4 times = 26-28-28-30-30 stitches. When piece measures 72-74-76-78-80 cm, cast off the middle 8-8-8-10-10 stitches for neck. Then decrease 1 stitch on next row towards neck. Cast off the remaining 8-9-9-9-9 stitches when piece measures 74-76-78-80-82 cm. Left front piece: Cast on 23-25-27-29-31 stitches with needle size12 mm and 1 strand Ull-Flamé + 1 strand Vivaldi (incl. 1 edge stitch in the side and 6 band stitches towards mid front). Work rib from the side as follows: Sizes S + XXL: 1 edge stitch, * K4, P4 *, repeat from *-*, finish with 6 stitches in garter stitch. Size M: 1 edge stitch, P2, * K4, P4 *, repeat from *-*, finish with 6 stitches in garter stitch. Size L: 1 edge stitch, * P4, K4 *, repeat from *-*, finish with P4 and 6 stitches in garter stitch. Size XL: 1 edge stitch, P2, * K4, P4 *, repeat from *-*, finish with K4 and 6 stitches in garter stitch. When piece measures 27-28-28-29-29 cm, continue with stocking stitch, but the band stitches are worked in garter stitch. Decrease in side for armhole as for back piece. At the same time, when piece measures 56-58-58-60-62 cm decrease 2 stitches towards mid front for neck. Then decrease for neck every 2nd row: 1 stitch a total of 7-7-7-8-8 times. Cast off the remaining 8-9-9-9-9 shoulder stitches when piece measures 74-76-78-80-82 cm. Right front piece: Cast on and work as for left front piece, but the rib is reversed so that it is the mirror image of the other band. Decreases in side, neck and armhole are in opposite side. In addition, work buttonholes on band - see description above: Work buttonholes when piece measures: Size S: 18, 27, 36, 45 and 54 cm. Sizes M+L: 20, 29, 38, 47 and 56 cm. Size XL: 22, 31, 40, 49 and 58 cm. Size XXL: 20, 30, 40, 50 and 60 cm. Sleeve: Cast on 23-23-26-26-26 stitches (incl. 1 edge stitch in each side) with needle size 12 mm and 1 strand Ull-Flamé + 1 strand Vivaldi. Work rib as follows: Sizes S + M: * K4, P3 *, repeat from *-* with 1 edge stitch in each side. After 3 cm decrease all K4 to K3 = 20-20 stitches. Sizes L + XL + XXL: * K4, P4 *, repeat from *-* with 1 edge stitch in each side. After 3 cm decrease all P4 to P3 = 23-23-23 stitches. When piece measures 22 cm, continue with stocking stitch. At the same time, increase in each side every 8-5.5-7-4.5-3.5 cm 1 stitch a total of 4-5-4-5-6 times = 28-30-31-33-35 stitches. When sleeve measures 48-47-45-43-42 cm decrease for sleeve cap in each side every 2nd row: 3 stitches 1 time, 2 stitches 1 time and 1 stitch 1-2-3-4-4 times. Then decrease 1 stitch in each side until piece measures 54-54-55-55-56 cm. Finally decrease 3 stitches in each side 1 time. Cast off the remaining stitches. Piece measures approx. 56-56-57-57-58 cm. Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Collar: Start from wrong side of left front piece and knit up approx. 34-48 stitches (divisible by 7 + 6) in the outermost stitch around neck with needle size 12 mm and 1 strand Ull-Flamé + 1 strand Vivaldi. Work rib as follows: 1 garter stitch, * P4, K3 r *, repeat from *-*, finish with P4 and 1 stitch in garter stitch - when the collar is folded out, there will be 1 stitch in garter stitch and 4 knitted stitches in each side. When collar measures 15-15-15-17-17 cm increase all K3 r to K4 and when collar measures 20-20-20-22-22 cm loosely cast off in rib. Sew in sleeves. Sew sleeve and side seams in one go inside the 1 edge stitch. Sew on buttons. Shawl: Size: Width at top: approx. 150 cm. Length mid back: approx. 70 cm. Materials: DROPS Vivaldi from GARNSTUDIO 50 g colour no 12, olive tweed DROPS Needle size 15 mm. --------------------------------------------------------- Knitting tension: Remember needle size is only a guide! 5 stitches x 10 rows with garter stitch and needle size 15 mm = 10 x 10 cm. Ridge/Garter stitch (back and forth on needle): 1 ridge = Knit 2 rows. Increase tip: Increase inside the 2 edge stitches in each side by making 1 yarn over. --------------------------------------------------------- Shawl: Loosely cast on 5 stitches with needle size 15 mm and Vivaldi. Work garter stitch upwards at the same time as you increase every 2nd row - see Increase tip. Remember the knitting tension! Increase to 75 stitches, then work 1 row at the same time as you increase 1 stitch in every other stitch = 112 stitches, cast off - with 2 strands if you would like a stronger edge. |
