Moss stitch: 1st row: * K1, P1 *, repeat from *-*. 2nd row: K over P and P over K. Repeat 2nd row. Buttonhole: Cast off for buttonholes on right front piece. 1 buttonhole = cast off 3rd st from mid front and cast on 1 new st on return row. Cast off for buttonhole when piece measures (measured mid front after all sts on front piece have been cast on): Size S: 2 and 8 cm. Size M: 2 and 9 cm. Size L: 2 and 9 cm. Size XL: 2 and 9 cm. Size XXL: 3 and 10 cm. Size XXXL: 3 and 10 cm. Back piece: Cast on 19-25-29-29-37-45 sts (includes 1 edge st each side) on needle size 6.5 mm with 1 thread Cotton Viscose, 1 thread Silke-Tweed and 1 thread Glitter. P 1 row from WS, and now complete piece in moss st – see explanation above. Remember knitting tension! At the same time cast on new sts each side on every other row: 3 sts a total of 5-5-5-6-6-6 times = 49-55-59-65-73-81 sts – work inc sts in moss st. Measure piece from here. When piece measures 4 cm inc 1 st each side on every 3-4-4-4.5-5-5.5 cm a total of 3 times = 55-61-65-71-79-87 sts. When piece measures 13-14-15-16-17-18 cm dec for armhole each side on every other row: 3 sts 0-1-1-1-1-1 times, 2 sts 1-1-1-2-3-4 times and 1 st 1-0-1-2-3-5 times = 49-51-53-53-55-55 sts. When piece measures 20-21-22-23-24-27 cm inc 1 st each side for wide shoulder. Repeat inc when piece measures 24-25-26-27-29-31 cm = 53-55-57-57-59-59 sts. When piece measures 30-32-34-36-38-40 cm cast off the middle 13-13-15-15-17-17 sts for neck and dec 1 st on neckline on next row = 19-20-20-20-20-20 sts left on each shoulder. Cast off when piece measures 32-34-36-38-40-42 cm. Left front piece: Cast on 11-11-11-13-15-15 sts (includes 1 edge st at side) on needle size 6.5 mm with 1 thread Cotton Viscose, 1 thread Silke-Tweed and 1 thread Glitter. P 1 row from WS, and now complete piece in moss st. Cast on new sts towards mid front on every other row as follows: 4 sts 2 times, 2 sts 6-7-8-9-10-12 times. At the same time when piece measures 4 cm inc at side as described for back piece. After all inc there are 34-36-38-42-46-50 sts on row. When piece measures 13-14-15-16-17-18 cm dec for armhole as described for back piece. At the same time when piece measures 17-19-20-22-23-25 cast off 2 sts towards mid front and dec to shape the neckline on every other row as follows: 1 st 12-11-12-13-14-14 times. At the same time when piece measures 20-21-22-23-24-27 cm and 24-25-26-27-29-31 cm inc 1 st at side for wide shoulder. After all inc and dec are complete there are 19-20-20-20-20-20 sts left on shoulder. Cast off when piece measures 32-34-36-38-40-42 cm. Right front piece: Cast on and work like left front piece, but reversed. Remember to cast off for buttonholes – see explanation above. Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Sew side seams. Crochet border: Crochet a border round the whole waistcoat and round armhole on crochet hook size 5 mm with 1 thread Cotton Viscose, 1 thread Silke-Tweed and 1 thread Glitter as follows: * 1 dc, 3 ch and skip approx 1 cm, 1 dc * repeat from *-* and finish with 1 sl st in first dc. Button cover: Crochet covers for 2 buttons on crochet hook size 3 mm with 1 thread Cotton Viscose and 1 thread Glitter as follows: Crochet 2 ch, then crochet 16 tr in the first ch, finish with 1 sl st at the top of first tr (= round 1). Round 2: Crochet 1 dc in each tr and finish with 1 sl st in first dc from beg of round = 16 dc. Round 3: Crochet 3 ch and then 1 tr in every other dc and finish with 1 sl st in 3rd ch = 8 tr. Slip buttons into cover, sew around edge and tie tog. Sew in buttons on left front piece. |
