There is something wrong with this pattern, the first row you crochet 6 dc then skip 1, then 6 dc, then skip one then 6 dc, repeat that till you get to the end, the next row you do 1 chain between your dc I have 48 spaces between those dc ch 1 dc. The one on your video has 16. How can there be only 16 when there were 89 stitches at the start of the 2nd row?

I don't get this, after you do the first 6 dc and it says *, work from *-* Work from what there is no *-* in those instructions Wouldn't it have just been easier to say the stitch pattern. There are no instructions with this at the beginning *-*. Very confusing.
29.08.2022 - 02:59DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Thomas, you have to repeat the part between the *, this means: * skip 1 chain stitch, 1 double crochet in each of the next 6 chain stitches *; in other words, you will crochet 6 dc over 7 chains by skipping 1 chain and working 1 dc over each of the next 6 chains. Happy crocheting!

Regarding to what Billy said above and your response. The headband is the same in the beginning and at the end. Does that mean that the row after the foundation chain should not be the one that skips a stitch after every 6sts, but should just begin with a double crochet row so that the beg. would look like the end?
15.06.2020 - 01:00DROPS Design answered:
Dear Malinee, the first row in diagram (= the one with the black star) is the row explained in the written pattern ie the row where you skip chain stitches evenly after foundation chains. Happy crocheting!

Hi, The pattern says to fasten off after A1-A3 have been worked, but in the picture, it looks like there should be another row?
15.08.2018 - 13:40DROPS Design answered:
Dear Gilly, the headband is the same at the beg and at the end, ie you start with 1 row dc, 1 row with (1 dc, 1 ch) and finish with 1 row with (1 dc, 1 ch) and 1 row with dc only. Happy crocheting!

INFORMATION FOR PATTERN: PATTERN: See diagrams A.1 to A.3. CROCHET INFO: Begin every row that starts with double crochets with 1 chain stitch. Chain stitch does not replace first double crochet. ---------------------------------------------------------- HEAD BAND: Worked back and forth. Work 103 chain stitches on hook size 3.5 mm with Muskat. Work 1 double crochet in 2nd chain stitch from hook (= 1 double crochet) – read CROCHET INFO, 1 double crochet in each of the next 2 chain stitches, 1 half treble crochet in each of the next 2 chain stitches, 1 treble crochet in next chain stitch, * skip 1 chain stitch, 1 treble crochet in each of the next 6 chain stitches *, work from *-* until 5 chain stitches remain, 1 half treble crochet in each of the next 2 chain stitches, 1 double crochet in each of the last 3 chain stitches = 89 stitches. Work A.1 over the first 9 stitches, repeat A.2 over the next 72 treble crochets (= 9 repetitions of 8 treble crochets) and finish with A.3 over the last 8 stitches. REMEMBER THE CROCHET TENSION! Fasten off when A.1 to A.3 have been worked 1 time vertically. TIE RIBBON: Cut 2 lengths of 1.5 metres each with Muskat. Twine the strands tog until they resist, fold them double so that they twine again. Thread it through 2nd row and down through next to last row, approx. 2 stitches in from the side in one side of head band. Tie a knot in each end and tie ribbon together approx. 5 cm down from where it is fastened to head band. Do the same on the other end. |
