Could I mix Drops Melody in Beige with Drops Brushed Alpaca Silk in Beige for the fluffy part of the boot? If so how much of each yarn would I need?
09.07.2020 - 21:06DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Schmahl, we already used 2 strands Brushed Alpaca Silk to replace 1 strand Melody in some patterns, so that you might work here with 1 strand Melody + 2 strands Brushed Alpaca Silk instead of 2 strands Melody - but remember to check/keep your tension - read more about alternatives here. Happy crocheting!

Buon lavoro!

Scusami non capisco quando spieghi 10-10-10- cm e diminuire 2 all'inizio e 2 centrali . devo fare 30 cm e poi diminuire sempre 2 all'inizio e 2 centrali ? o quando devo iniziare a farlo ? misura piede 37 . grazie aspetto risposta
07.03.2019 - 16:03DROPS Design answered:
Buongiorno Lory.

What does it mean when you saw "folded double "? Just folded like you would wear it around your leg?

Dear MaryAnn, that's correct, so that you can sew tog beg/end of rows along the back of leg and on bottom of foot. Happy crocheting!

I've only been crocheting a few months so could you explain what 32-34-36 etc. means?
14.12.2014 - 23:51DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Moses, each number refers to the matching size, the slippers are in size 35/37, 35/40 and 41/43. If you work 1st size, you will start with 32 ch and have 31 dc at the end of 1st row, in 2nd size, you start with 34 ch and have 33 dc at the end of 1st row, and in larger size, you start with 36 ch and have 35 dc at the end of 1st row. Happy crocheting!

Sorry, assembly unclear. Foot done. Assembly says fold in half. When I do it is extremely pointed, even with just 5 DC. Does the toe assemble to look envelope with a square end on the end or pointed? in the us, and didn't buy garn yarn. In Missouri. So I can't ask them. Could you email?
14.11.2014 - 22:26DROPS Design answered:
Dear Shara, after having crocheted sole (sc rows worked "straight"), you then fold last row double and sew sole together on the bottom (and along mid back). Click here to get yarn in the U.S.. Happy crocheting!

Crochet DROPS slippers in "Snow" and "Symphony" or "Melody".
DROPS 133-9 |

CROCHET 2 STS TOG: Crochet the first st but wait with last YO and pull through, crochet next st and at last pull trough now pull thread through all 3 loops on hook. -------------------------------------------------------- SLIPPER: Worked back and forth, top down. Work 32-34-36 loose ch on hook size 8 mm with 2 threads Symphony (1 thread brown and 1 thread light beige) or Melody (2 threads beige). Turn piece. Work 1 dc in 2nd ch from hook, then work 1 dc in every ch the entire row = 31-33-35 dc. Continue to work as follows: * 2 ch, turn piece, work 1 tr in every st, 1 ch, turn piece, work 1 dc in every st *, repeat from *-* - REMEMBER THE CROCHET TENSION – important so that the slippers are the correct size. AT THE SAME TIME when piece measures 10-10-10 cm, dec 2 sts on the row as follows: Work the first 2 sts tog - see explanation above - and the 2 middle sts tog = 29-31-33 sts on row. Then continue until piece measures 19-20-21 cm. Now work the foot in dc as follows – insert a marker in the middle st: ROW 1: Work 1 dc in every st until st before mid st, 2 dc in next st, 1 ch (= middle st), skip next st, 2 dc in next st, 1 dc in each of the last sts, turn piece. ROW 2: Work 1 dc in each of the first sts until the ch, work 7 tr in the middle ch (the 4th tr of the 7 tr is now the middle st) and 1 dc in each of the last sts, turn piece. ROW 3: Work 1 dc in each of the next sts until st before mid st, work 2 dc in next st, 1 ch (= mid st), skip next st, work 2 dc in next st, 1 dc in each of the last sts, turn piece. ROW 4: Work 1 dc in each st until mid st, 7 tr in ch and 1 dc in each of the last sts, turn piece. Repeat 3rd and 4th row until piece measures approx. 22 - 24 - 27 cm in length - measured when piece is folded double. Switch to Snow and now measure piece from here. * Work 1 row with dc, finish row with 1 ch and turn piece *, repeat from *-* until piece measures approx. 4-4,5-5 cm - at the same time on last row, work the first 2 and the last 2 sts tog - see explanation above. Cut the thread. ASSEMBLY: Fold the slipper double, sew tog edge to edge in front loop of outermost st to avoid a chunky seam. Loosely work a row with dc at the top of leg with Snow. Work a ch-row with Snow of approx. 150 cm, make a small pompom in each end – Tip: Before the last pompom is inserted on the ch-row, pull the ribbon through a st at the bottom of leg in the transition between Symphony / Melody to Snow so it is fastened tightly. Tie this ch-row around the leg. |
