Merci
24.03.2022 - 09:01DROPS Design answered:
Bon tricot!

------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- RIDGE/GARTER STITCH (worked back and forth): Knit all rows. 1 ridge = knit 2 rows. INCREASE TIP-1: All increases are worked from the right side! Increase 1 stitch by making 1 yarn over. On the next row (wrong side) knit the yarn over twisted to avoid a hole. INCREASE TIP-2 (evenly spaced): To work out how to increase evenly, count the total number of stitches on the needle (e.g. 167 stitches) minus the bands (e.g. 10 stitches) and divide the remaining stitches by the number of increases to be made (e.g. 18) = 8.2. In this example, increase by making 1 yarn over after approx. each 8th stitch. Do not increase on bands. On the next row, work the yarn overs twisted to avoid holes. RAGLAN: All increases are worked from the right side! Increase 1 stitch on each side of the marker-stitches by making 1 yarn over (= 8 stitches increased on the row). On the next row purl the yarn overs twisted to avoid holes. Then work the new stitches in stocking stitch. DECREASE TIP (sleeves): Decrease 1 stitch on either side of the marker thread as follows: Work until there are 3 stitches left before the marker thread, knit 2 together, knit 2 (marker thread sits between these 2 stitches), slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch (2 stitches decreased). BUTTONHOLES: Work buttonholes on the right band (when the garment is worn). Work from the right side when there are 3 stitches left on the row as follows: Make 1 yarn over, knit 2 together and knit 1. On the next row (wrong side), knit the yarn over to leave a hole. The first buttonhole is worked when the rib on the neck measures 3 cm. Then work the other 6-6-6-7-7-7 buttonholes with approx. 8½-9-9½-8½-8½-9 cm between each one. CASTING-OFF TIP: To avoid the cast-off edge being tight you can cast off with a larger size needle. If the edge is still tight, make 1 yarn over after approx. each 6th stitch at the same time as casting off; the yarn overs are cast off as normal stitches. ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- JACKET – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE. The neck and yoke are worked back and forth with circular needle, from mid front and top down. The yoke is divided for body and sleeves and the body continued back and forth with circular needle as far as the split in the sides, then the front and back pieces are finished separately, back and forth. Back piece is 2 cm longer than front pieces. The sleeves are worked in the round with double pointed needles/short circular needle, top down. POCKETS (part 1): Cast on 28 stitches (including 1 edge stitch on each side) with circular needle size 4.5 mm and DROPS Soft Tweed. Work stocking stitch back and forth with 1 edge stitch in GARTER STITCH on each side – read description above. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! When the piece measures 12 cm, cast off the edge stitches = 26 stitches. Place the stitches on a thread. Work the other pocket in the same way. Lay the pockets to one side. Part 2 is worked later. NECK: Cast on 111-115-119-123-131-135 stitches (including 5 band stitches on each side towards mid-front) with circular needle size 3.5 mm and DROPS Soft Tweed. Purl 1 row (= wrong side). Now work rib as follows: ROW 1 (= right side): 5 band stitches in garter stitch, * knit 1 twisted, purl 1 *, work from *-* until there are 6 stitches left, knit 1 twisted and 5 band stitches in garter stitch. ROW 2 (= wrong side): 5 band stitches in garter stitch, * purl 1 twisted, knit 1 *, work from *-* until there are 6 stitches left, purl 1 twisted and 5 band stitches in garter stitch. Repeat rows 1 and 2 until the rib measures 3 cm. Now increase every second purl-1 to purl-2 (seen from the right side) – read INCREASE TIP-1 = 136-141-146-151-161-166 stitches – remember the BUTTONHOLES on the right band – read description above. When the rib measures 6 cm, increase all the remaining purl-1 to purl-2 = 161-167-173-179-191-197 stitches. When the rib measures 8 cm, knit 1 row from the right side where you increase 9-19-25-31-31-33 stitches evenly spaced – INCREASE TIP-2 = 170-186-198-210-222-230 stitches. Purl 1 row from the wrong side (yarn overs purled twisted and bands knitted). Change to circular needle size 4.5 mm. Insert a marker after the band. THE YOKE IS MEASURED FROM HERE. YOKE: Insert 4 markers (without working the stitches) as follows: Skip 32-34-36-38-41-44 stitches, insert marker in the next stitch (= in the transition between front piece and sleeve), skip 24-28-30-32-32-30 stitches, insert marker in the next stitch (= in the transition between sleeve and back piece), skip 54-58-62-66-72-78 stitches, insert marker in the next stitch (= in the transition between back piece and sleeve), skip 24-28-30-32-32-30 stitches, insert marker in the next stitch (= in the transition between sleeve and front piece. There are 32-34-36-38-41-44 stitches left after the last marker. Continue with stocking stitch and 5 band stitches in garter stitch on each side – AT THE SAME TIME on the first row from the right side start to increase to RAGLAN – read description above. Increase like this each row from the right side a total of 14-16-18-19-21-24 times = 282-314-342-362-390-422 stitches. Continue working until the piece measures 13-13-15-16-18-20 cm from the marker. Now divide for the body and sleeves as follows: Work 46-50-54-57-62-68 stitches (= front piece), place the next 54-62-68-72-76-80 stitches on a thread for the sleeve, cast on 10-10-10-12-12-12 stitches (= in side under sleeve), work 82-90-98-104-114-126 stitches (= back piece), place the next 54-62-68-72-76-80 stitches on a thread for the sleeve, cast on 10-10-10-12-12-12 stitches (= in side under sleeve), work the last 46-50-54-57-62-68 stitches (= front piece). The body and sleeves are finished separately. THE PIECE IS NOW MEASURED FROM HERE! BODY: = 194-210-226-242-262-286 stitches. Work stocking stitch with 5 band stitches in garter stitch on each side. When the piece measures 23-24-24-26-26-26 cm from the division, work the next row from the right side as follows: Work 13-17-19-22-25-31 stitches, place the next 26 stitches on a thread for part-2 of the pocket, work the 26 stitches from part-1 of the pocket (make sure you continue on the right side), work until there are 39-43-45-48-51-57 stitches left on the row, place the next 26 stitches on a thread for part-2 of the second pocket, work the stitches from part-1 of the second pocket (make sure you continue on the right side) and work the last 13-17-19-22-25-31 stitches. Continue with stocking stitch and 5 band stitches in garter stitch on each side until the piece measures 30-32-32-33-33-33 cm from the division. Divide now piece for back and front pieces as follows: Slip the outermost 51-55-59-63-68-74 stitches on each side on their own thread (= front pieces). There remain now 92-100-108-116-126-138 stitches on needle for back piece. Continue working each piece separately. BACK PIECE: Work now in stocking stitch with 2 edge stitches in garter stitch on each side. When piece measures 32-34-34-35-35-35 cm from division, knit 1 row from the right side increasing at the same time 18-22-23-24-26-26 stitches evenly spaced – remember INCREASE TIP-2 = 110-122-131-140-152-164 stitches. Purl 1 row from wrong side (with edge stitches in garter stitch). Change to circular needle size 3,5 mm. Work rib as follows: 1st ROW (= right side): 2 edge stitches in garter stitch, * knit 1 twisted, purl 2 *, work from *-* until there are 3 stitches left, knit 1 twisted, 2 edge stitches in garter stitch. 2nd ROW (= wrong side): 2 edge stitches in garter stitch, * purl 1 twisted, knit 2 *, work from *-* until there are 3 stitches left, purl 1 twisted, 2 stitches in garter stitch. Continue back and forth like this until rib measures 9 cm. Cast off knit over knit and purl over purl – read CASTING-OFF TIP. The jacket measures approx. 66-68-70-72-74-76 cm from the shoulder down. RIGHT FRONT PIECE: Place the 51-55-59-63-68-74 stitches from the thread back to circular needle size 4,5 mm. Work in stocking stitch with 5 front band stitches in garter stitch towards mid front and 2 edge stitches in garter stich towards the side. When the piece measures 32-34-34-35-35-35 cm from the division, knit 1 row from right side while increasing 8-10-12-14-15-15 stitches evenly spaced – remember INCREASE TIP-2 = 59-65-71-77-83-89 stitches. Purl 1 row from wrong side (with edge stiches and front band stitches in garter stitch). Change to circular needle size 3,5 mm. Work rib as on back piece, but with 2 edge stitches in garter stitch towards the side and 5 front band stitches in garter stitch towards mid front. Continue back and forth like this until rib measures 7 cm. Cast off with knit over knit and purl over purl – remember CASTING-OFF TIP. The jacket measures approx. 64-66-68-70-72-74 cm from the shoulder down. LEFT FRONT PIECE: Work the same way as on right front piece. SLEEVES: Place the 54-62-68-72-76-80 stitches from the thread on the one side of the piece on short circular needle/double pointed needles size 4.5 mm and knit up 1 stitch in each of the 10-10-10-12-12-12 stitches cast on under the sleeve = 64-72-78-84-88-92 stitches. Insert a marker thread in the middle of new stitches under the sleeve. Allow the thread to follow your work onwards; it will be used when decreasing under the sleeve. Start at the marker thread and work stocking stitch in the round for 4 cm. Now decrease 1 stitch on each side of the marker thread – read DECREASE TIP. Decrease like this every 4½-3-2½-2-1½-1½ cm a total of 7-10-12-14-15-16 times = 50-52-54-56-58-60 stitches. Continue working until the sleeve measures 39-40-38-38-36-34 cm from the division. There is approx 5 cm left to finished length; try the jacket on and work to desired length. Knit 1 round where you increase 13-14-15-16-17-18 stitches evenly spaced = 63-66-69-72-75-78 stitches. Change to double pointed needles size 3.5 mm and work rib (knit 1 twisted, purl 2) for 5 cm. Cast off with knit over knit and purl over purl – remember CASTING-OFF TIP. The sleeve measures approx. 44-45-43-43-41-39 cm from the division. Work the other sleeve in the same way. POCKETS (part-2): Place the 26 stitches from the right pocket on circular needle size 4.5 mm. On the first row cast on 1 edge stitch on each side = 28 stitches. Work stocking stitch with 1 edge stitch in garter stitch on each side for 12 cm, loosely cast off. Work part-2 of the left pocket in the same way. ASSEMBLY: Sew together the sides of the pockets, inside the 1 edge stitch. Then fasten the pockets to the inside of the jacket with a small stitch in both bottom corners. The pockets reach the middle of the rib. Sew the buttons onto the left band. |
