Hello, a second question has come up. At the beginning of the pattern a K4, P2 rib is noted, yet I don't find this in the pattern, only a K1, P1 in reference to the sleeve. What am I missing? Could you clear this up for me, please? Thanks for this opportunity to ask questions. It really helps.

Dear Raven, these rib are worked on sleeve, when it says: Knit 3 rows rib, , then you will decrease to K4, P1 and work this rib until piece measures 12 cm. Happy knitting!

Hello, I'm just about to begin this pattern, but have some confusion in the first paragraph of the Body. It reads, " rst knit 2 rows garter st over the new sts ." I don't understand how this fits into the rest of the instructions in that paragraph. Thanks for your help.

Hi Raven, You start the body with 2 rows og garter stitch (1 ridge), then continue with stocking stitch where you begin to increase in the sides. After the first increase, work 1 ridge over the new stitches in the sides, then continue with stocking stitch after the subsequent increases. Happy knitting!

Frage zu Raglan: Werden die Abnahmen gegen Vorder- und Rueckenteil sowie die Abnahmen gegen die Aermel gleichzeitig gemacht? Also beidseits der Markierungen?
21.01.2013 - 15:27DROPS Design answered:

Wilde dit echter toch even melden. Met vriendelijke groet.

Garter st (back and forth on needle): 1 ridge = 2 rows. 1st row: K, 2nd row: K. Ridge (on circular needle): 1 ridge = 2 rounds. 1st round: K, 2nd round: P. Rib: * K 4, P 2 *, repeat from *-*. Decrease tip (for raglan decrease): Dec as follows from RS: Before marker thread: Work until 3 sts remain before marker thread, K 2 tog, K 1. After marker thread: K 1, slip 1 st K-wise, K 1, lift the slip st over. Dec as follows from WS: Before marker thread: Work until 3 sts remain before marker thread, P 2 twisted tog, P 1. After marker thread: P 1, P 2 tog. Knitting tip: If knitting tension is not right in length and tension is too tight, will raglan decreases be too short and armhole too small. This can be adjusted by now and again working an extra round without dec. Body: Jacket is worked back and forth on circular needle from mid front. Cast on 128-144-160-180-200 sts on circular needle size 4.5 mm and Muskat. Work 1 ridge garter st, then continue with stocking st, while at the same time from 1st row inc in each side towards mid front every 2nd row: 2 sts 6 times and 1 st 4 times = 160-176-192-212-232 sts – first work 1 ridge across new sts, then continue with stocking st. Remember knitting tension! Insert 1 marker thread in each side 40-44-48-53-58 sts in from mid front. There are now 80-88-96-106-116 sts between marker threads mid back. Continue with stocking st while at the same time as outermost st towards mid front is worked in garter st to finished length. At the same time when piece measures 10 cm inc 1 st on each side of marker threads in each side every 5-5.5-5.5-6-6 cm in total 4 times = 176-192-208-228-248 sts. When piece measures 31-34-35-36-37 cm cast off 10 sts in each side for armhole (i.e. 5 sts on each side of marker threads) = 78-86-94-104-114 sts remain on back piece and 39-43-47-52-57 sts remain on each front piece. Lay piece to one side and work sleeves. Sleeve: Cast on 48-54-60-60-60 sts with pointed needles size 3.5 mm and Muskat and work 1 ridge garter st. Then work 3 rounds rib before dec all P 2 to P 1 = 40-45-50-50-50 sts. Continue with rib until piece measures 12 cm. Change to pointed needles size 4.5 mm and work stocking st while at the same time inc 2-1-0-0-0 sts evenly on 1st round after rib = 42-46-50-50-50 sts. When piece measures 13-13-13-15-17 cm inc 2 sts mid under arm every 3.5-3.5-3.5-2.5-2 cm in total 11-11-11-13-15 times = 64-68-72-76-80 sts. When piece measures 50-50-50-49-49 cm cast off 10 sts mid under arm = 54-58-62-66-70 sts. Lay piece to one side and work second sleeve. Carrying piece: Place sleeves on same circular needle as body where cast off for armholes = 264-288-312-340-368 sts. Insert 1 marker thread in all transitions from body to sleeve (= 4 marker threads). Read whole next paragraph before continuing. Raglan decrease: Read Knitting tip and Decrease tip! Dec in each side towards front and back pieces: Every 2nd row: 24-23-22-20-18 times, then every row: 1 st 2-7-12-18-25 times. Dec in each side towards sleeve: For size M work 1 row before starting dec on sleeve. Dec every 4th row: 3-1-1-0-0 times, on every 2nd row: 20-24-26-29-30 times, then every row: 0-0-0-0-1 time. After last dec there are 68-68-68-72-72 sts remaining on needle. Cast off sts on back piece and shoulders = 13-13-13-14-14 sts remain for each front piece. Now work collar and piece is measured from here. Each piece finished separately. Continue with stocking st and outermost st towards mid front in garter st until piece measures 6-6-6-7-7 cm, place sts on a thread, repeat with sts on other front piece. Assembly: Sew openings under sleeves. Collar: Sew collar mid back with invisible sts. Sew collar to neckline on back piece with seam on WS. Crochet border: Work with hook size 6mm and Snow at bottom of sleeves and along whole opening (i.e. from mid back bottom edge, up along right front piece, back of neck, down along left front piece and along bottom edge to mid back). Work as follows: 1 dc in 1st st, * 3 ch, skip approx. 2 cm, 1 dc in next st *, repeat from *-* and finish with 3 ch and 1 sl st in 1st dc from beg of round. ________________________________________ Flower brooch: Crochet 4 ch with hook size 6 mm and Snow and form to a ring with 1 sl st. 1st round: 1 dc around ring, * 3 ch, 1 dc around ring *, repeat from *-* in total 2 times and finish with 3 ch and 1 sl st in 1st dc from beg of round = 3 ch-spaces. 2nd round: 1 ch, continue working as follows in each ch-space: 1 sl st, 5 tr and 1 sl st. Turn piece, next round worked from back of flower. 3rd round: 1 ch, work 1 dc around dc from 1st round, * 3 ch, work 1 dc in bottom of 3rd tr from 2nd round (i.e. in middle of leaf’s bottom edge), 3 ch, 1 dc around next dc from 1st round, * repeat from *-* until there are 5 ch-spaces, finish with 3 ch and 1 sl st in 1st ch from beg of round. Turn piece, next round worked from front of flower. 4th round: 1 ch, continue working as follows in each ch-space: 1 sl st, 3 tr and 1 sl st, finish with 1 sl st in 1st ch from beg of round. Cut and fasten strand and sew a safety pin to back of flower. |
