Was heißt je 2-2-2-3-3-3? Jede 2. bzw. jede 3. Reihe? Wenn ich einmal 3 und 6 mal 2 Maschen pro Seite abnehme komme ich auf 30 abgenommene Maschen.
24.10.2024 - 20:43DROPS Design answered:
Liebe Barbara, in M wird man 3 Maschen beidseitig abketten, dann 2 Maschen 2 Mal beidseitig abketten so hat man: 102 Maschen - (3 M x 2 Seiten) - (2 Maschen x 2 Seiten x 2 Mal) = 88 Maschen übrig. Viel Spaß beim Stricken!

In the pattern for the neck the instruction is: knit up to 100 to 120 sts around the neck INSIDE 1 STITCH. Please explain what thus means. Many thanks.
11.08.2024 - 15:47DROPS Design answered:
Dear Sandra, this means to pick up sts inside the 1 edge stitch of the edges. You can find a video on this here: https://www.garnstudio.com/video.php?id=59&lang=en. The number of stitches should be divisible by 4 (for the rib) and between 100 and 120 sts. You can choose how many depending on the desired width of the neck. Happy knitting!

Vid avmaskning för ärmhålen står det att man ska ”sticka 2 rätmaskor, lyft 1 maska av stickan…”. Då får man 2 maskor ” över” i kanten innan ärmhålen. Är det meningen?
06.07.2024 - 13:22DROPS Design answered:
Hei Lena.

The pattern states : cast off on EACH row to begin the sleeves but decrease tip 2 states that all decreases are worked on the right side. They seem to contradict one another. Please help.
13.06.2024 - 06:18DROPS Design answered:
Hi Sandra, Casting off and decreasing are 2 different techniques. The casting off is for the bottom of the armholes, then the decreases shape the back and front pieces. Hope this helps and happy knitting!

I do not understand whether I must cast off only on the right side of the knitting ie every alternate row. Or whether I cast off on every row . Decrease tip 2 is difficult to understand. Please help. I am stuck.

Dear Sandra, the pattern specifically stated, that all decreases should be done form the right side. Happy Knitting!

------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- RIDGE/GARTER STITCH (worked back and forth): Knit all rows. 1 ridge = knit 2 rows. DECREASE TIP-1 (evenly spaced): To work out how to decrease evenly, count the total number of stitches on the needle (e.g. 118 stitches) and divide by the number of decreases to be made (e.g. 24) = 4.9. Decrease by knitting together approx. each 4th and 5th stitch. DECREASE TIP-2 (armholes): Decrease inside 2 stitches. All decreases are worked from the right side. Decrease as follows at the beginning of the row: Knit 2, slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch. Decrease as follows at the end of the row: Work until there are 4 stitches left, knit 2 together and knit 2. CASTING-OFF TIP: To avoid the cast-off edge being tight you can cast off with a larger size needle. If the edge is still tight, make 1 yarn over after approx. each 4th stitch at the same time as casting off; the yarn overs are cast off as normal stitches. ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- VEST – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: The piece is worked back and forth in sections and sewn together to finish. Due to the number of stitches, the piece is worked with circular needle. Ribbed edges are worked around the armholes and neck to finish. BACK PIECE: Cast on 118-130-138-150-166-182 stitches with circular needle size 3.5 mm and DROPS Sky. Purl 1 row (= wrong side). Then work as follows from the right side: 2 edge stitches in GARTER STITCH – read description above, * knit 2, purl 2 *, work from *-* until there are 4 stitches left, knit 2 and work 2 edge stitches in garter stitch. Continue this rib for 6 cm. Knit 1 row from the right side where you decrease 24-28-28-30-34-36 stitches evenly spaced – read DECREASE TIP-1 = 94-102-110-120-132-146 stitches. Change to circular needle size 4.5 mm. Work stocking stitch back and forth with 1 edge stitch in garter stitch on each side. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! When the piece measures 29-30-31-32-33-34 cm, cast off for the armholes at the beginning of each row as follows: 3 stitches 1 time, 2 stitches 2-2-2-3-3-3 times on each side = 80-88-96-102-114-128 stitches. Then decrease 1 stitch on each side 8-11-14-16-21-27 times – read DECREASE TIP-2 = 64-66-68-70-72-74 stitches. Continue working back and forth. When the piece measures 52-54-56-58-60-62 cm, cast off the middle 34-34-36-36-38-38 stitches for the neck and each shoulder is finished separately. Cast off 1 stitch on the next row from the neck = 14-15-15-16-16-17 stitches on the shoulder. Continue working until the piece measures 54-56-58-60-62-64 cm (25-26-27-28-29-30 cm from the bottom of the armhole). Cast off with knit from the right side – read CASTING-OFF TIP! Work the other shoulder in the same way. FRONT PIECE: Cast on 118-130-138-150-166-182 stitches with circular needle size 3.5 mm and DROPS Sky. Purl 1 row (= wrong side). Then work as follows from the right side: 2 edge stitches in garter stitch, * knit 2, purl 2 *, work from *-* until there are 4 stitches left, knit 2 and 2 edge stitches in garter stitch. Continue this rib for 6 cm. Knit 1 row from the right side where you decrease 24-28-28-30-34-36 stitches evenly spaced – remember DECREASE TIP-1 = 94-102-110-120-132-146 stitches. Change to circular needle size 4.5 mm. Work stocking stitch back and forth with 1 edge stitch in garter stitch on each side. When the piece measures 29-30-31-32-33-34 cm, cast off for the armholes at the beginning of each row as follows: 3 stitches 1 time, 2 stitches 2-2-2-3-3-3 times on each side = 80-88-96-102-114-128 stitches. Then decrease 1 stitch on each side 8-11-14-16-21-27 times – remember DECREASE TIP-2 = 64-66-68-70-72-74 stitches. Continue working back and forth. When the piece measures 48-50-52-54-56-58 cm, place the middle 28-28-30-30-32-32 stitches on a thread for the neck and each shoulder is finished separately. Cast off stitches on each row from the neck as follows: 2 stitches 1 time and 1 stitch 2 times = 14-15-15-16-16-17 stitches on the shoulder. Continue working until the piece measures 54-56-58-60-62-64 cm (25-26-27-28-29-30 cm from the bottom of the armhole). Cast off with knit from the right side - remember CASTING-OFF TIP! Work the other shoulder in the same way. ASSEMBLY: Sew the shoulder seams. Start the side seam under the armhole, inside the 1 edge stitch and sew down, leaving 6 cm for the split at the bottom. Repeat on the other side. NECK: Start at the one shoulder seam, from the right side and with short circular needle size 3.5 mm. Knit up 100 to 120 stitches around the neck (including the stitches from the thread) inside 1 stitch (the number of stitches must be divisible by 4). Work rib (knit 2, purl 2) in the round for 3 cm. Cast off with knit over knit and purl over purl – remember CASTING-OFF TIP. ARMHOLE-EDGES: Start under the armhole, from the right side and with short circular needle size 3.5 mm. Knit up 124 to 152 stitches around the armhole (the number of stitches must be divisible by 4). Work rib (knit 2, purl 2) in the round for 3 cm. Cast off with knit over knit and purl over purl. Work the other armhole-edge in the same way. |
